Why does Jackie Beavers have the writing credits on "I Never found a girl" its surely a Eddie Floyd penned record anyone got any ideas or have I got it all wrong?

Certainly written by Floyd- and Booker T and Al Bell. I can only assume Jackey Beavers thought he could get away with it - there are plenty of other examples of people claiming they wrote things they didn't - or it is simply a genuine mistake.

You are dead right Chalky - but this is pushing it a bit - Floyd's was Top 40 pop and no 2 R&B !!!

Probably up to their eyes at that time with legal matters having just had their back catalogue 'robbed'!!!

Classic case of this is Deadric Malone on labels such as Duke ,was actually Don Robey who ( allegedly )  used other peoples songs and put pseudonym on so he would get the rights.A reason why many artists were pissed off with the system at the time because all monies went to owner.  I suppose he got them on 45 and many would have been glad just to be recorded but he certainly knew what made the money over the years.
