They have been called the greatest male singing group ever, and I agree .. from the early days with Al Bryant[Dream Come True-Slow Down Heart-I Want A Love I Can See]to the classic period with David Ruffin[The Way You Do The Things You Do-My Girl-It's Growing-Get Ready]or the Dennis Edwards era[Cloud Nine-Runaway Child-Just My Imagination]it's all good cause the hits are timeless as are the great singers...Eddie-Paul-David-Dennis-Otis-Melvin-Richard-Ali-Glen-Damon,great songs-great moves-great harmony, my favorite group as I'm sure many of your's ..anyone who loves soul music has a favorite Temps song or performance, imagine an endless menu of soul there for the listening.

Not many groups that can throw up as many quality unreleased tracks as they have. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say I prefer their non chart stuff/ album tracks/unreleased stuff to their hits and they take some beating.

I particularly love the 64 -65 period ,     Girl, why you wanna make me blue, The way you do the things you do ,The girls alright with me , Since i lost my baby,  and it was all good in my mind right through the psychedelic/ social commentary phase of the later sixties to maybe the very early seventies , stuff like the masterpiece album , i used to" try" to like it , but it always seemed a bit overwrought .    Right through from their early doo wop type sound to the concept album type stuff later on , they truly reflect the sound of the time they were released , oh to be back in 1964.

Where to start? An extraordinary catalogue spanning 50 + years. 

Love pretty much everything they've recorded, bar some of the MOR covers and Christmas novelties.

Many will rightly highlight the golden years 64-69 with Ruffin, Williams and Kendricks in majestic voice, but I do like the later stuff featuring the fantastic voice of Ali Ollie Woodson.

Absolutely, but do yourself a favour and give "Once you had a heart" under Paul Williams a whirl on the tube, one of the truly awesome songs the man sang, thing is, he died tragically, and watching and listening to him gave the impression he was a tortured soul, every word he sang IMHO was a reflection of what was going on in his life

Very good album from their Atlantic visit, Melvin Franklin's lead on the gem[I Could Never Stop Loving You]is top notch as good as anything they've ever done.

Fact...Berry want the Temps to record[Do You Love Me]but he couldn't find them.
