Colin Mannex
Two great records that always make people ask me, "What's this?!?" 1.) Quinn Harris - I'll Always Love You / Protect Me from Myself (M.L.E.) Shiny VG+ clean labels, plays great. Few stray, wispy marks DNAP. $175. Two superb soul sides. "I'll Always Love You" has been getting a lot of spins in modern rooms throughout Europe. A dramatic intro paves the way for an uplifting dancer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-AcmxznpVQ The flip, though, remains something of a secret weapon for funk nuts in the U.S. "Protect Me From Myself" will bring this record up in value once more people know about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dSKzvlJ8rU 2.) Bill Murphy Plus One - Ain't No Big Thing / Happy Days Are-A-Comin' (Martin) VG++ Beauty! $200 (Sold recently on Facebook at 180GBP in similar condition.) Modern/Crossover collectors swear that Murphy's take surpasses The Radiants' supposedly definitive recording. With a track so sweet, who could muster the vitriol to argue one way or the other? Let the music move you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_ZAVtBuwhU Paypal gift, plus shipping ($4 U.S. / $14 World). Clips not from the copies for sale.
