He certainly had a good innings, 89 years old. One of the most successful rhythm and blues artistes and a pioneer of rock'n'roll. First hit in 1949/50 with The Fat Man followed by loads of others, many now standards in both R&B and R&R. I remember hearing and liking his records when I was at school: I'm Ready, Be My Guest, I Want To Walk You Home, Walking To New Orleans and these are the first to spring to mind.

RIP Fats, thanks for the music.

Bub always played it keeps raining as one of his staple tunes....

It keeps raining, was always a classic "ender" along with Jimmy Radcliffe long before Dean Parrish & I Go To Pieces.

Long time fan of Fats and New Orleans music. There was a really excellent docu on Sky Arts a few months back that will probably be coming back now so look out for it!
