I have just bought a copy of this, it has got the machine stamped matrix but the label looks like a wrap around label not a stick on one as is the normal styrene record.

Does the vinyl counterfeit have a stamped matrix??

  • Always liked the Elsie Strong version of this on Finally label. It has the instrumental on the flip which is great in its own right.

  • Most probably an included past family surname. Perhaps his Mother's maiden surname, rather than something wrong with him. Could also mean a defector..... Unusual all the same. A very success

  • thanks for the info my copy is machine stamped ZTSP122833-1A so must be okay, appreciate the help.

Never seen a LE GRAND original copy in the flesh, but would love to own one!

John Manships latest video on boots etc is really interesting where he shows the difference in sound quality, originals are proven to have that higher sound rating

threads like this are why I'll never buy a really expensive record off evil bay or someone without proven credibility

Interesting....JM is an expert after all.

Discogs also has stated no real demos on LG, just SPQR.

Here is a bit more info on Lenis..

defect the 3rd, so there were 2 other defects before him? You'd have thought they'd got it right by then

Unusual all the same. A very successful career Lenis has had.
