They won't sell it, and it had a release date of 76.

So I'm guessing it's an illegal pressing taken from a studio tape....but I'm sure somebody on here knows the full story!

There are two sides to every story- if you read online comments from Sherlie Matthews (Shirley Matthews was a Canadian based R & B Singer) , she says she recorded the song in the late 60's.

      On the other hand, if you read the liner notes to the Kent CD "The Mirwood Soul Story", the single was "released" around the time a certain SS had access to the Mirwood master tapes- they  commented  it appears to be a new recording . 

I thought this record was by Sherlie Matthews (Mirwood fame) not Shirley Matthews (Canadian artist).

It is the Mirwood artist, Shirlie Mae Matthews, not the Canadian one.

I thought the Mirwood stuff Soussan actually did pay his dues and therefore not a bootleg?

I always thought it was a legitimate release. I bought one at the Casino on the red vinyl. Great record by the way

Hi chalky your correct it was the mirwood Shirley Matthews  whom allegedly was the belles lead singer too.  There was an article on here in the past about this . And why would mirwood record two artists with the same name .??

Just sold a copy last week on the red vinyl.
