Mix of in-demand and unusual, funky, Northern, crossover and all that. Soundfiles available.

I generally operate a ‘first to pay gets it’ policy. Cash needed, so no extended holds I’m afraid – prompt payment required. Paypal F&F or add 4% to cover fees please - postage to be added.

(1)    The Contenders – “Don’t Ever Leave Me” / “A Love Like Yours” (Accident) VG/VG+ £75

-          Seems to be obscure; garage-type Northern double-sider (check out the soundfiles below)

A Love Like Yours (Accident).mp3

Don't Ever Leave Me (Accident).mp3

(2)    Count Ferrell – “Wizard Of Ah’s” (Astra) EX/M- £50    *****SOLD*****

-          R&B stormer and current spin for Dr Pickles

(3)    Earl & Jimmy Major – “Quiet As It’s Kept” (Pulsar WD) VG+/EX £40    *****SOLD*****

-          Storming underplayed Northern with lots of potential

Chase It Away (Pulsar).mp3

Quiet As It's Kept (Pulsar).mp3

(4)    The Flairs – “You Got To Steal It” (RAP) EX £100

-          100% class

(5)    Fran Oliver – “ Next Time You See Me” (Sonar) EX £100    *****SOLD*****

-          Mid tempo growler; very classy dancer and hard

(6)    James Bowens & His Agent – “Baby I Want You” (Roosevelt Lee) EX £100   *****SOLD*****

-          Stafford classic gaining popularity recently; 100mph raw and powerful

(7)    James “Mr Fish” Preston – “Keep Your Soul Movin” (Contrast) EX £100

-          Great raw late 60s/early 70s funk; current spin for Dean Read

(8)    Joe And George – “No One Loves You” (Now) VG+ £50    *****SOLD*****

-          Quality oldie and don’t ignore the flip “You’re Gonna Miss Me” which deserves attention

(9)    Lee Jennings – “Going And Get It” (Dotty’s – multi-coloured) EX £60    *****SOLD*****

-          Class gritty Detroit on the better quality Dotty’s press

(10) Little Jimmy Ballard – “Guilty” (ABC WD) EX £40   *****SOLD*****

-          Seems to be not that well known and not on YouTube; brilliant Northern – breaks, everything

(11) Mel & Tim – “Forever And A Day” (Stax) EX £75   *****SOLD*****

-          Evergreen 70s dancer

(12) Mixed Emotions – “Am I Imposing” (Rock-Way) M- £40   *****SOLD*****

-          1st issue without the group name

(13) Pic & Bill – “Talk About Love” (Charay) VG- £90   *****SOLD*****

-          OK, to avoid any misunderstandings (like before), this looks messy but plays soundly enough

-          The US Charay presses play much better, clearer and louder than the European copies on Belter etc

-          This is a tough record on this label and would be £300+ in top nick

(14) Ricky Lewis – “I’m Lonely Too” (Cindy) EX £75   *****SOLD*****

-          Great funky crossover dancer which should be bigger

(15) The Shades Of Love – “Such Good Friends” (Delon) EX £600    *****SOLD*****

-          Rare and superb; brilliant funky Northern for the dancefloor
