Soulfulsolutions
Here’s another platter of soulful delights to get your taste buds around. PM any questions or to reserve, sound files on request. Cliff Nobles – Your love is getting stronger – Atlantic 2352 DJ M- £500 SOLD (What more can any self-respecting Soulie want than a powerhouse northern monster. For me one of the very best examples of a fit for purpose dance floor filler and my trigger for pressing right up to the national speed limit, windows down – woohooh! Lovely copy on the red and white DJ format, nuff said) Montclairs – Hey you, don’t fight it – Arch 1305 M- £2000 SOLD (1969 debut release for this super talented group, made up of Kevin Sanlin, Phil Perry, George McLellan, David Frye, and Clifford Williams. Unfortunately, they never quite realised the success the output their performing, writing and producing skills deserved. If this fabulous East St, Louis crossover dancer isn’t enough on its own, the Mississippi steamer logo multi-coloured label might suck you in and trip you over the edge. I’ve never seen a copy in this condition come to market, and apart from a single pressing bubble, its near mint on the labels and surface, outstanding!) Ray Marchand – Your ship of fools – Dore 763 Vg++ £550 (Always been a rare label number, and what a track, seen at nearly treble in less condition on DISCOGs, have I got this so wrong, or is this a bargain? Whilst the vinyl has some marks, and there’s some light pops on intro, there’s nothing to overwhelm an enjoyable audio experience. Labels show some discolouration round the edges) Toni Ross – Hurry back – Har-Town 002 Ex+ £1200 (Gorgeous female dancer that ekes a traditional northern style, none of this commercial malarkey, probably semi-known due to rarity, but it’s got legs on this scene for a smart enterprising DJ. Leaves me gobsmacked how a couple of copies can go for well in excess of this 3-4 months ago and this sit around wallowing in the ugly friend queue, priced to sell mind) Next up…… 5 premier Motown stable dancers. I’m only letting these go after finding replacements and it has nothing to do with upgrading conditions either, these are all in top shape, it’s just my craving for West Coast demo’s. Collectively these stunning East Coast and Mid-West pressed 45s represent the talent, inspiration and innovation of the likes of Holland, Dozier, Holland, Whitfield and Stevenson, credentials that wreak of CLASS! I’ve seen stock copies of all these for sale recently at these prices, and yet the demos are significantly harder to find. Eddie Holland – I’m on the outside looking in – Motown 1049 WD M- £150 (Feint ring wear) Barbara McNair – You’re gonna’ love my baby – Motown 1087 WD M- £200 (Feint ring wear) Frances Nero – Keep on lovin’ me – Soul 35020 WD M- £200 SOLD Velvelettes – Lonely lonely girl am I – V.I.P. 25017 WD M- £200 (One very light graze, DNAP) Debbie Dean – Why am I loving you – V.I.P. 25044 WD M- £100 P.S – I have more Motown demos for sale, please PM PayPal as friends or add 4% please, or I can send bank details. Postage: £7.50 – Special Delivery full insurance for 45’s up to £500 £8.50 – Special Delivery full insurance for 45’s up to £1000 £9.50 – Special Delivery full insurance for 45’s up to £2500 Overseas on request Cheers, Lee Edited December 16, 2019 by Soulfulsolutions Link to comment Social source share
