Visual grade: VG+ to EX €350 Four Coins – Forward together / Hocus pocus-dominocus – Lan-Co 6900 Rare crossover group soul. Extremely rare press with a different flip. I’m guessing this came out before ‘Maybe she’s right’. Pressed slightly off-center. Visual grade: VG €300 Oscar Martinez Orch. – Tortillitas de Manteca / Me quieres-o-no me quieres? – El Zarape 123 Rare Tex-Mex tittyshaker that’s impossible to find, especially on this label. Visual grade: VG+ €200 Changing Tymes – You live only once / Try it once again – AMG 8034-31 Sought-after modern with a rarer version of the Imperial Wonders tune. Visual grade: EX to M- €200 Jackie Shane – Comin’ down / In my tenement – Sue 788 Two slices of R&B fire, Comin’ Down always had the edge for me so recorded that side, but any of the two makes it worth snapping up. Visual grade: EX €160 Carl Carlton – I can feel it / You’ve got so much – Back Beat 617 DJ Copy Probably needs no introduction. All-time northern dance floor packer. Plays perfect. Visual grade: VG+ €160 The New Editions – Wastin’ no time / Vargo – New Edition 1000 Two slices of driving Philly funk. Super clean copy. Visual grade: EX €160 Santo and Eddy – I never felt so lonely / A fool I would be – Lads 101 Atmospheric Philly popcorn that featured on the infamous Popcorn Bangers mix. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €150 Bernard Terry – Try my god / Instrumental – Silver Sunic 412013 Gospel boogie grail, rare original. Looks VG+ for the most part but has a heat damaged area that causes an audible swoosh thoughout. Visual grade: G €150 Diane Jenkins – Recycle / Gee baby, what about you – Creative Funk 12003 Sister funk with a message and a beautiful deep flip. Visual grade: Strong VG+, warp NAP €130 The Flairs – Where you live / You got to steal it – Rap 007 Two sides of Chicago crossover magic. Great recording with crisp drums. Visual grade: M- €125 Mongo Santamaria – We got latin soul / same – Columbia 4-44998 DJ Copy Driving Latin stormer. Beautiful copy on a vinyl (!) demo. Visual grade: M- €100 Zen Fuller – Doomsday / Take a memo from a fool – Acama 128 DJ Copy Mid-tempo popcorn R&B shaker. Has some surface marks but plays very strong. Visual grade: VG €100 Young Jesse – The wrong door / Lula-Belle – Capitol 4318 Late 50s R&B from this underground hero during a short spell at Capitol. Visual grade: EX €100 Mosquitoes – The fly (long version / short version) – Spear 1001 The only way to have both Manny Corchado’s versions of Pow-Wow without spending four figures. Beautiful copy and a strong press. Visual grade: M- €100 The Royal Jokers – You tickle me baby / You came along – Fortune 560 Crude Detroit R&B jiver in beautiful condition. Visual grade: M- €80 Willie Mae (Big Mama) Thornton – Summer time / The truth’ll come to the light – SotoPlay 0034 There’s a million versions out there but this has to be one of the deepest. Clean copy too. Visual grade: EX €70 Bobby Barnes – Times are bad / I shed a tear – Discovery 1311 Gritty late 60s funk. Bobby’s best known for his deep ballads and the flipside is one of the best he ever put out imo. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €70 Amanda Humphrey – Power of love / Call on me – USA 840 Sixties Chicago double-sider. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €65 Syl Foreman – Before I leave you / Got to pay some dues – Adell 103 Minneapolis R&B that came out on three or four labels. This release has the beautiful Pay Some Dues on the flip as an added bonus. Visual grade: Strong VG €60 Gerri Granger – Castle in the sky / What’s wrong with me – Bigtop 45-3110 Beautiful femme popcorn in excellent condition. Visual grade: EX €50 Kiosk – Mona call / Waterproof – Love Rare numbered reissue of the ultimate Belgian funk grail. Nice crisp sound on this one. Visual grade: M- €50 The Casinos – If I told you / Everybody can’t be pretty – Del-Val 1002 Uplifting northern sound that for some reason has always stayed under the radar for a lot of collectors.
