Some more lockdown listening for you if you are struggling.

I've been converting some tape swaps from BITD and are now on my mixcloud page, more being added as I get time.  All the Stafford Story podcasts on there as well as dozens of 'Live" venue recordings and other good stuff.

Yarmouth Weekender 1990, the 1st Northern Soul on. On site radio with Ady Croasdell and H.B. Barnum, Colin Law then 45 minutes of the comedy duo Banks and Bicknell.

Another tape courtesy of Andy Rix this time its 4th Anniversary All-Dayer at St Ives in Cambridgeshire, 11th November 1979. Richard Searling the DJ

"The Nite Spot" Bedford Embankment, 15th February 1980 with Soul Sam behind the wheels of steel. Again thanks to Andy Rix for the recording.

Another tape from Andy Rix and an event I can find nothing about, so if you can shed some light, who, what, where etc I'd be grateful, will have to dig Blues and Soul and Echoes out I think. Anyway it is the Skegness Soul Festival, 25th August 1980. The Djs are Richard Searling, Rob Smith and Dave Raistrick.

Soultime Promotions and the return to Cleethorpes Winter Gardens, March 20th 1982. Richard Searling, Gary Ruashbrooke, Poke and Pat Brady the 4 Djs over two recordings.

Last recording via Andy Rix this time at Stafford and the Top of The World. I know Keb is DJing second half, just working out the beginning.

Some more tapes that have been converted, these are courtesy of Iain Rollo and the first two are here, both from The Wigan Casino and its 4th Anniversary Oldies All-nighter. The quality isn't too bad, bit dodgy in a couple of places but the records and the Djing (including the raffle) can be heard.

I must get round to sending you the sixty-odd tapes that Emma had me convert for her , if you'd like them of course.

All from the Stafford era , I made split files so that they can be easily navigated on a CD and have made as best a job at tracklistings as I could.

If you like I'll send the lot over via WeTransfer for you to do with as you see fit , I was going to stick them on my Mixcloud page but then they stuck the restrictions on uploading and I never bothered.

I have umpteen of the Lockdown 'Niter sessions saved too.

Another tape courtesy of Iain Rollo recorded at Wigan Casino. Not sure of the date nor the room. If anyone can help with either and the Dj(s) that would be great.

More live recordings from Iain Rollo. This time we have Soul Sam, we thought at The Aberdeen Music Hall 78-79 but he never apparently Djed there nor at Clouds so unlikely to be in Scotland as thought. The record quality is fine but the Djing in-between is barely audible, you can make out it is Sam though I think.

A tape from Iain Rollo from we know not where. Some old records from the Dj for the time so one guess is probably/possibly Mr M's, I'd doubt it was the main room at Wigan but who knows. If anyone can shed some light on it that would be great. Great thunderous "clap" during the Eddie Parker track at the beginning.

A mix of some recent, new, forthcoming and some other stuff I've been enjoying recently.

Russ Winstanley at Wigan Casino's 7th Anniversary courtesy of Iain Rollo. Quality for the most part, well side 1 of the tape is pretty good, the second side starts pretty poor but does improve.

Wigan Casino once more, Mr M's and Anniversary night. Not sure which night possibly 7th, maybe 8th as I'm sure the Dj says just a few weeks left or something along those lines, to sure what he was referring to? I'll have to listen again. Another tape courtesy of Iain Rollo.

Wigan Casino, the 7th Anniversary. This excellent quality recording features a few from Gary Rushbrooke, Paris sounds fantastic, Pat Brady follows for a few before Russ takes over for the Dance Competition. Simon O’Malley, Vernon and John Neilson are the dancers. Then Pat takes over again and I think Dave Evison or Brian Rae? Russ talks of of discussions with the council with regards to renewing the lease. Great tape and some great music courtesy of Iain Rollo.
