Hi all,

I have a vinyl copy of the above title with small text & moulded label. Is this original or a reissue. I know the styrene copies are legit but unsure about this.
thanks in advance for your help.

  • Just different pressing plant as Chalky has mentioned above, they (Regional Pressing plants)would have been supplied labels, or if its a big outfit they would create the label in house to the customer

Is the flip knock on my door. It’s a major label so may well be a vinyl copy are some other releases exist as vinyl.. can’t say I have had a vinyl one tho

I've never seen a vinyl copy. All the copies I have seen on 7" have been styrene. John Anderson had this record in quantity, not long after it's release for £3. They were originals but they were styrene.

It looks like an authentic vinyl original. The vinyl profile looks good. You are very lucky to have it!

Quite common occurrence, Lamont Dozier is another 45 with Fish Aint Bitin / ABC, always in Styrene,  you rarely see vinyl copies but they do turn up every so often.

Alan that's Nice on vinyl  🙂 I'd keep that one...

My 12" on Mercury is vinyl.  And I have seen demos and issues of 7 inch with different type font on labels. Is this the difference between the styrene and vinyl?

Just different pressing plant as Chalky has mentioned above, they (Regional Pressing plants)would have been supplied labels, or if its a big outfit they would create the label in house to the customers spec, hence difference in typeface etc...

all the 12s are vinyl..never seen a styrene 12 to be fair..of any release, that would be something to behold.. there`s at least 4 variations on 7in mostly on styrene  the double sided promos with thick typeset, these  are the ones that usually surface.. theres  2 styrene issues both with thick and thin type set..then this vinyl with the thin type set with the same font as the thin styrene copy.. theres probably more variations out there
