You haven't stated where the record is located. I'll assume the USA. I recently bought a 45 from Craig Moerer via Ebay. He charged $5.50 for airmail. It came in a proper card 45 mailing envelope, so no excuses for adding on packaging costs as some do. If Craig can do it for that, then why can't others? I would have said no more than $6-7 tops. Maybe they're just ramping up postage costs because Ebay doesn't take a cut of postage, just the final auction price.

A mate of mine has just won something on ebay and the US seller wants $14 postage for a 45!

I've never shipped a 45 to the UK or Eurpoe that has cost more than $6.00.

They are either using an on-line USPS calculator incorrectly, or they are trying to make some money on the shipping.

Shipping from U.S is usually 5-6 dollars.

Whenever I bid on anything I take account of these costs, if the seller does not list a price I email him for it before bidding, and add it into the maximum price I am prepared to pay, I don't mind whether shipping is $5 or $25 as long as the overall price is within my limit for that particular item.

If a seller has listed a record which you would expect to pay $100 for and he had it at a Buy it now price of $30 with $20 shipping would you really not buy it?

Yes i would pay high postage for a bargain.... ..

I and many others who sell on ebay know that its tough to get a good price on most records at the moment,some hike up the postage to make up for letting tunes go cheaper..

Personally i never buy without knowing the postage first. If they can't tell you, walk away.

Depends how desperate you are to get your record . I have bought a few records of a ebayer called Abeze-online , they charge way over the going price but I always get my record within 5-6 days as compaired to the usual 14-28 days (if your lucky)

they have some tasty stuff but there site freaks me out

I would pay the charge and wait for the record to arrive, then leave negative feedback on him stating the true cost of postage.

got an email from the seller today apologized for the error in the postage price ,he said he set his calculator to high and if i buy anything else off hiss listing will knock off $3.15!
