Just been told a new member is pm-ing various members and offering 45s via payment thru friends and family paypal

This is not an approved or indeed recommended method of selling on here and imo is highly suspect given the amount of pms sent and the f&f

The email given for payment is different than the account email and the ips being used to post these pms are currently non-uk!

Anyone involved in such trading with thsi member is strongly recommended to put any trading on hold with this member until I have looked into this further

Who do i get in touch with, as i have already sent a 50% payment, to this person.

I’ve sent him full payment. Sent a message to Source and already raised with PayPal requesting refund.

I'm flabbergasted to hear that anyone would send anything to a new member with no posts or history of any kind on here ... what were you thinking ... ?

Sheer bloody stupidity. I asked for references, asked who he knew, but temptation got the better of me. Only thing I did right was not sending as friends and family. First time in all the years I’ve been buying records this has happened to me.

Fab to see proactive intervention like this. Maybe genuine but good to warn and check

Hi

do not use friends and family at all costs, only did it once  against my better judgement  to an ex  member  on here Rob Reily and got shafted for £300

expensive lesson but i wont  be doing it again no matter how many assurances the seller promises

suggest strongly that you get over to paypal asp and see if they can help you get your money back in anyway, if not then try your source of payment  for assistance, be it bank, credit card etc

the sellers account is now closed on here to prevent any further rip offs via pm

this decision has been made due to the amount of red flags, such as pm posts being reported as from a French ip, various European emails used in various pm deals (none matching the original account email ) plus other indicators

Sorry to hear about this folks.

Replied in detail on the rip off alert.

Basically,watching him like a hawk,

any suspicious activity will be fed back

immediately.

He is checking out members profiles,

checked mine and i checked his,

no info,alarm bells ringing.

Good luck to all,hopefully you

don't get stung.

KTF.

Normally this is an exceptionally safe site.

I nearly always pay by friends and ask for the same when I do sell on here.

It doesn’t take much to tell the kosher sellers on here does it?

Sincerely hope you all get your monies back.
