Mark Bicknell Posted March 12, 2007 Share Posted March 12, 2007 A most enjoyable night, good company, fantastic venue,clean perfect sound system, really nice to see Dave Raistrick enjoyed Dave's selections which included Jan Jones, King Tutt etc., good to see 'Mr Soul in the sun' Eddy Edmondson, big suprise to see Rob Thomas there which made my night, well done to 'The Cleethorpes Soul Collective, the guys worked very hard to get this one off the ground and it payed off, musically it was a nice mix with a good percentage of 70's/Cleethorpes type stuff played but it worked well with the Northern and 60's stuff mixed in, i must say i was average and played it a little safe and a bit 'same old same as' but sometimes you can't always express yourself fully as a DJ and that's not a dig just a simple fact but the crowd seemed to enjoy the selections, not knowing that side of the country too well musically i felt i did ok but as i say could have gone a little deeper in places, the floor was busy and responded to all the DJ's which was nice, many thanks for Mr and Mrs Stone for the lift from Sheffield and back, loved your company, the next event there happens in June and is well worth checking out, thanks again to everyone connected with the event for making me so very welcome. 10.30 - 11.30 Selections.
