Another delve into the archives here and what is I believe just the one issue of "It's The Beat".  Written/edited by Dave McCadden, sadly no longer with us and said to be an extremely funny guy.

God there is a review of my "Spot|" at the "Carousel" all dayer. Great to remember the tunes i played at the time and the the legendary DJs i was keeping company with !

As a former Fanzine collector, Daves' were up there with the best, and his sense of humour was infectious! Knowing that I lived with my Grandparents whilst I was serving my apprenticeship, he used to send each issue in an A4 brown envelope, adorned in cuttings of current pin-up models.....He was a stand-up comedian before he sadly lost his battle with illness. Such a great character , and another taken too soon!

I am possibly wrong but I thought they were A5. 

Have a copy somewhere where amongst others there's a parody of Soul Sam receiving records from USA packed within polystyrene tiles. Whereupon he threw records away and tiled the kitchen ceiling 😂

I suspect Cecil would still top the charts for many folk. It's an awesome, atmospheric record. Not too many reach the bar.

This is brilliant, look forward to going through it later on.  Dave encouraged and inspired me to keep going with my fanzine and even compiled a crossword, sent me record reviews and put me on to - who became - regular contributors.  I never met Dave but spoke with him many times on the phone, and yep, he was a funny guy.  Thanks for this.
