June 14, 200717 yr Cheers for that, is that its rarest format? Value? and is there demos and issues on purple and yellow? and thier values? anybody? pete i got a purple issue and i think it goes for a bit more than the yellow Leon
June 14, 200717 yr Author pete i got a purple issue and i think it goes for a bit more than the yellow Leon Thanks Leon, do we know about the difference with the demo - issue values? Pete
June 14, 200717 yr Thanks Leon, do we know about the difference with the demo - issue values? Pete I think the issues go for about £350 demos £450 I may be wrong and I think the yellow copy are about £100 lees
June 14, 200717 yr the issue is much rarer than the demo , ive see it go for as much as 500 sterling depending on condition im sure j manship sold one on his auction site last year for more the demo normally goes for around 250 - 300 again on condition
June 14, 200717 yr theirs two on ebay now one at$316.81 and 212.50 both purple Leon The Dave and Rubin version goes for around half the price of the Majestics I believe...same tune but missing the intro of the majestics version Bazza Edited June 14, 200717 yr by bazza
June 14, 200717 yr The Dave and Rubin version goes for around half the price of the Majestics I believe...same tune but missing the intro of the majestics version Bazza yeah i think thats right
June 14, 200717 yr Author theirs two on ebay now one at$316.81 and 212.50 both purple Leon Thats what got me thinkin Leon, a yellow demo went today on the bay for £316 i think, so was curious what the difference value wise is with the purple/yellow demo/issue,
June 14, 200717 yr The Dave and Rubin version goes for around half the price of the Majestics I believe...same tune but missing the intro of the majestics version Bazza If memory serves me correctly it's the Warner copy of David and Ruben that's missing the intro - the Rampart release is the same as the Majestics. Plum is rarer than than the yellow one and has, as someone pointed out earlier, sold for £500 + on Manship's auction, I got around £350 for a yellow demo a couple of years ago on Ebay, but to be honest this is case of value being determined by demand and not rarity IMHO. Not many weeks go by without one or the other showing on ebay and personally I've seen fewer David and Ruben Rampart copies than Majestics in recent years.
June 14, 200717 yr Thats what got me thinkin Leon, a yellow demo went today on the bay for £316 i think, so was curious what the difference value wise is with the purple/yellow demo/issue, yeah i saw that pete but i was always lead to belivie purple went for more but i'm not an expert
June 14, 200717 yr yeah i think thats right If you get it on Rampart it is the same as the Linda release with intro
June 14, 200717 yr Author yeah i saw that pete but i was always lead to belivie purple went for more but i'm not an expert Nor me mate, also curious as to why the colour difference? was one released before the other? so that would mean a first and second issue? or were they pressed at different plants? etc etc..............
June 14, 200717 yr i have the david and reuben version on rampart with the intro sorry ted you beat me to it Think you will find the Rampart issue is the rarest release of the lot Edited June 14, 200717 yr by Tedsoul
June 14, 200717 yr Think you will find the Rampart issue is the rarest version of the lot As per my previous post Ted, I'm convinced the Rampart one's the rarest too, as I've seen very few of them by comparison to the Majestics (both colours) and hardly any Rampart issues. Although it never seems to sell for than than either of the Majestics releases Edited June 14, 200717 yr by uroffal

June 14, 200717 yr Author you could be right but then there's david and reuben why ? it's a mine field LOL theres me thinkin i will get one post listing the most rare to the least rare with estimated values and dates of release! As you say Leon, never that simple is it? i even hesitated askin as i thought it may be to obvious to not know and i may be looking foolish for not knowing such a widely known fact, Anyway thanks to your good self and all the others for your input, its now a tad clearer than mud LOL Pete
June 14, 200717 yr Author off topic but just noticed my posts stayed on 189 throughout this thread, how does that work then? oops just gone up one LOL Edited June 14, 200717 yr by pete60

June 15, 200717 yr David and ruben issue bought of Tim Ashibendi years ago Thanks for posting that up Ted Bazza
June 15, 200717 yr Had my Rampart issue for 22 years now - and I'm sorry to say that I'll have to be buried/cremated with it! Bought it off Graham Anthony from Chaddesden, who was a Rampart collector. It was the most expensive record on his list at the time - a whopping £35!
June 15, 200717 yr I was always under the impression that the Yellow Linda is actually the DEMO of the purple Issue? Are there two issues of the Linda version? ie. A Purple Demo? Regards, Dave www.hitsvillesoulclub.com www.theresthatbeat.com

June 15, 200717 yr Cracking tune and even good to hear David and Reubens version. but as much as the song itself i am intrested in these type of acts and what else know about them, other releases etc
June 17, 200717 yr IMHO, ITS A SHITE POP RECORD WITH AT LEAST HALF A DOZEN DIFFERENT LABEL/PRESSING VARIATIONS (NONE PARTICULARLY RARE) WHICH IS TYPICAL OF THE NORTHERN COLLECTING SCENE NOWADAYS, BLOODY MINEFIELD....AGREE RAMPART ISSUE RAREST THO' . BRI.
Can anybody shed some light on the different label colours (Linda) rarity/values issues/demos?
Thanks in advance,
Pete
