Visited the cafe yesterday for the first time - great to see, at least the casino has been remembered by the town of wigan (although not loved by many wiganites lol). I tried to get my bearings as to where the casino would have stood but everywhere looked so different, couldnt even find station rd or has it gone now as we used to know it? Also is it true the entrance or at least the alley way of mr m's still stands?

Being a born and bred Wiganer, albeit living in this godforsaken hole called St. Helens for the last 5 years,

I decided to finally make the pilgrimage to the Casino Cafe about 3 months ago.

It was a complete and utter let down to say the least.

Luckily I was fortunate enough to park in the car park that brought me straight upto the entrance that led into the cafe.

If I hadn't done this, I'd probably still be looking for it.

When I got into the cafe/s (2 together), it took me an embarassed 5 seconds to firstly figure out which way to go.

Ok, you might think that a wall full of soul associated murals would have given the game away but 2 cafes....

I thought it was the same one.

Add to the murals a 6 foot wide display cabinet of original memorabilia, mixed in with some blatently obvious new items,

and you've got Wigan's answer to the Casino memory.

Absolute tosh with £1.85 for a regular cup of shite coffee to boot!
