just in a jiffy bag(not for the 1st time),no cardboard protection.

how it arrived in one piece i will never know.

wasnt a dear record joe simon/whole lotta lovin/ss7.

was a mint copy tho.

also charged me $10 p&p.cause package was so light it cost him only $2.70 to send.unless a jiffy bag costs $7.30!.

he already left me feedback.

i sent an email saying was a bit of a rip off(p&p way)in a nice way!.

should i leave bad feedback,or just leave it with the email & no feedback?.

i would love to read a feedback and find out the potential seller of a record to me is a tight arse and dont protect the record in proper and save packaging, i wouldnt buy and rightly so no matter what the record was, is it worth the risk if it comes in 2 pieces or more but in a secure jiffy bag

Totally agree with you Paul. I was always cautious about feedback because I didn't want to create a stir so if I had a bad experience I didn't leave any.

....but that does nobody any good so I now give fair and honest feedback. It doesn't have to be negative as the neutral option is available. I've used it twice lately, once when a record wasn't in the condition advertised and once when record was badly packaged and late (from USA). The second time I got an offensive message from seller - which kinda proves he's not worth dealing with.

Overall, I've been ok with ebay but feedback is invaluable and I'm being honest about it, you should do the same Sepia.

Had to file a claim with Paypal who says they contacted the post and its still in transit

I posted about this before (I'm very happy about this, I get ripped off so much by shady people and I am honest and can respect honest mistakes too). In fact, I still probably won't leave negs or neutrals except in extreme cases, because I'm sure the buyer will block me and they'll have my #1 want the next day. However, it will expose most sellers who are bad and the really really shady sellers' feedback will drop like a rock. Everyone here seemed against this policy when I posted before, I don't see a reason for an honest seller to be opposed to this -- obviously some insane people will leave unfair negatives but an honest seller's rating will stand out more compared to other sellers in the overall picture. Also, ebay is now counting every positive (not just once per seller) toward your total score, so random negatives will get averaged out quickly while sellers who consistently get negatives will stand out more.

Just unbelievable some of the p&p that you get, remember contributing to the other thread on certain horrors that have come through the door.

One item that really cracked me up though was this below, not records, it was some christmas decorations that i bought from the states a couple of years back.

Must have took the poor bloke a week to get some spittle back in his mouth bless him !!

There are the same amount of stamps on the other side of the box would you believe !!

I Got a record from the states a few weeks ago that had taken 2 months to arrive and when it did arrive I was shocked it arrived in one piece.

The seller had put it between 2 pieces of old cardboard that were way to big with a cross of sellotape to keep them together. The record was actually hanging out of one corner but the package had been plastered with stickers saying badly packaged handle with care from every stop on route which I think is the only reason it arrived in one piece. I left negative feedback as I had been charged $10 and the record wasnt cheap either.

I only got a record before xmas that had been packaged so tightly it had cracked completely across, seller gave me a full refund without even questioning the fact

i would be happy for that as a buyer and a seller

yeah you might get the odd twat but 99.9% of buyers are happy if the service is how it should be and like you say that would stand out anyway

i recieved one today in a 7" mailing envelope not marked fragile or do not bend and no cardboard protection but luckily i know my postie and he always rings my bell instead of trying to fit things through my letter box.

For non-paying bidders sellers already have the recourse of filing strikes against the user. This will actually get these users kicked off ebay quickly, much more than negative feedback will do. Plus negative feedback doesn't really prevent you from bidding on anything anyways. Plenty of sellers are very very slow sending items and I don't have much recourse except to start a paypal dispute. Either way, there's no way for ebay to know whether the bidder really was non-paying or slow to pay, so there wouldn't be a way of providing feedback just for those cases.

I won a 12" record last week from a UK seller it arrived at work wrapped in just brown paper!!!. how the hell it got there in one piece I will never know, it wasn't an expensive record but it was the principle I was fuming but as has been said before if you leave neg feedback they do just the same. I was going to e-mail them saying I wasn't happy, went to my e-bay and she had left positve feedback, my luck was in I was going to leave neg feedback but decided on neutral as it had actually got to me in one piece.

She has since replied saying"other peole had not complained".

I have found the worst offenders are the sellers who are not record specialists.

You really should establish before you bid what the shipping costs are going to be. A lot of

Ebay sellers use high postage costs to reduce the price of the item therefore lowering their fees to Ebay. I just bought a watch for 0.99 US cents, the guy lived in Spain, said it was $20.00 to the UK or Belgium, I told hime I had a Spanish address (my office) he said always $20.00 no matter where, again what he was trying to do was pay Ebay fees for the 0.99 cents he won't pay anything for the psotage costs.
