Most record packages received in one day?

Let me explain - about a year ago at a mate's house half a dozen of us were sat about playing records, smoking, drinking etc. During the conversation somebody said something like "I once got 4 packages through the post one day" said in a mixture of pride and shame. Proud to show they were a serious collector and shamed thinking now they'll all know why I couldn't afford new shoes for the kids.

That triggered off a chain of replies - "Four? I once had six" and in every reply the number got bigger. Untill amongst much amazement and laughing somebody said "Most I've had in one day is 13 (thirteen)! "

Mouths were seen to drop open.

Phew anybody wanna add their top number?

And please no fibbing.

Not sure if John Manship should be allowed to reply either (laughs).......

And to clarify I don't mean the most number of records received through the post in one day (you could have 200 in one box...). Lives of the obsessives' revealed.

well not in one day, but last year when I think the us mail snarled up a bit I was waiting on a few packages, went on a course with work for a few days as I was leaving to travel postie lands with 8 packages!! no time to open so I thort "I'll look forward to openin these when i get back" well when I got back there was another 4!!!! Our lass had gone to visit her son for a couple ov days. So I opened a bottle ov wine, locked mesell in the record room and dribbled over me 12 packages wonderin which one to open first! It took me right back to them days when as a boy I'd get a 100 soulpack and go an lock mesell in me bedroom for the night with me Dansette!!

not the number of packages, but most records I've had delivered one day was 1500.

Came in three large cardboard boxes - and you gussed it - 1400 of them were complete shite.

As a postie i have to carry the records for you guys ( well not you`s personally ) please dont move onto my delivery and start ordering loads of records

I'm guessing I would win this contest given the amount of random crap I buy on ebay, gemm, other people's lists, etc. I'm not going to give a number, all I have to say is the neighbors in my condo think I'm very strange...

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO SPENT A LOT OF TIME WORKING IN JERSEY. ON ONE OCCASION I RETURNED AFTER MY TEN DAY STINT TO 26 GLORIOUS PARCELS , THE MISSUS'S FACE WORRA PICTURE .

Best I've ever had was six lots and by God did she moan !!

The most I've had on one day was 10, but that was including some that had taken a month to arrive. Luckily they were delivered on a Saturday morning, when I was at home or my wife would have gone completely nuts....
