You certainly gave him the feedback he deserved - but this is the problem, you had to still leave him positive when it was obvious that he deserved negative

Having to leave "positive" to state what you want is bollox like Pete says....

Having just looked though it seems ebay have removed it.... not the "positive" counting towards positive, if you get me, but the actual "comments".... disgraceful and shame on them....

Hey Katie.... contact ebay and see if they'll get rid of your "negative" explaining reasons.... you never know....

The balance has gone too far over to the buyer on eBay now...

Hardly list anything on there as it's so expensive.

Then you have to deal with muppets who think you are in the blocks, parcel in hand, awaiting their payment so you can post the item to them as soon as it lands...

I see you also left people negatives in response to their neutrals. That seems pretty nasty too. Why would you do that? A seller recently sold me an item which was very overgraded and lied about the sleeve being original in the description. I left them a positive saying so. They left me a NEGATIVE. Why would they do that unless they were a horrible, vindicitive person in the first place?

It's good that sellers can't leave negatives any more, there is no point in that as it's not like anyone reads buyer feedback to evaluate whether they can bid, people only read seller feedback to evaluate the seller. Even if the buyer is in the wrong, negative feedback accomplishes little, it's not like a seller can automatically block a bidder that has some negatives, they will only block specific bidder that they had a bad experience with already. Sellers have the recourse of filing NPB strikes against buyers who don't pay. That can actually get them kicked off of ebay (unlike negative feedback for sellers). In this case you didn't deserve a negative, but a buyer can evaluate the comment and your response and see that you didn't deserve it. However, if you act nasty in response and leave mean followups and leave a nasty enough feedback to the buyer (and then are vindictive enough to publicly post about them in a forum), that doesn't really reflect well on you as a seller.

Ebay have removed my response because i called him a sour name, then threatened to suspend my account.

I explained to Ebay via phone, that since the feedback system has changed, sellers have no protection against rouge buyers, and as sellers could not respond to negative feedback buyers could do what they want and leave negative feedback without fear of response.

Ebay sympathised but would not remove the negative feedback.

The guys name is stephen callear and lives in Leek, Staffordshire.

i agree the buyer is in the wrong, but at worst they were unreasonable and mean. However, they didn't LIE, threaten the seller, etc. Posting that experience (without giving names, ebay users, etc.) and complaining is a reasonable response. posting their name, ID, location, etc. is overly vindictive and unreasonable with respect to what actually happened and doesn't reflect well on the seller, IMO. Also, as long as the seller it airing their dirty laundry in public and linking to their actual feedback, I can also point out how they left negs in response to neutrals. All of this doesn't accomplish much for the seller.

As a buyer if I've paid my money why should I have to wait 14 days for my goods. Will you wait 14 days till you spend my money.

If you have time to buy 45s and sell them then you ought to make the time to post them as soon as you can. I think it's called "customer service" which of course is pretty lacking in the UK.

I post all my items, either on the same day they are paid for or the day after, always obtain proof of postage, and send items securley packaged.

Sellers should not be held responsible for failure to deliver by our postal service.

No, I'm not nuts, but unfortunately a lot of people on eBay are.

Sometimes it takes me until the Saturday following payment before I can get to the post office, as I work during the daytime and can't always get out to the Post Office when I'd like too - it's called having a hectic lifestyle... everything is sent recorded... so usually it's received within the week.

I'm not selling records as a business so I don't have the luxury of a mail run.

The additional week is a buffer for the mentally challenged few who expect the record to drop on their doormat the very next day...

Then the simple answer is to run your auction to finish on a Friday so that prompt payers get the first available delivery. If the others dick you around by making you wait for payment then it's their look-out as to when you can get to the PO.

Whatever happened to both sides of a transaction acting responsibly. And it's always the guys first on the phone to order who are the last to pay!!

Personally I can't fathom why ebay decided to change the original feedback system, I can see the arguments from boths sides but that is why it should have been left well alone.

I recently sold a record to the guy in the States that after 5 days was threatening to make a complaint to ebay about non-delivery, bear in mind that I'm in Australia, I was then subjected to near daily e-mails with him not being able to accept that i was persoanlly responsible for the shortfalls of both Australia Post & the US postal service.

The record was delivered & he never left feedback, which under the new format is good as he obviously could have left a negative with me having no recourse.

Other the other side of the coin I have been waiting for delivery of some scooter parts from France with the seller not replying to e-mails with an explanation or tracking number.......I've now had to take it to resolution as he won't reply

Another part was sent from France (different seller & someone I regularly buy from) & returned because the dopey Aussie Postal contractor couldn't be arsed to use his head, the reason was 'Addressee had moved', I'm constantly getting deliveries & there are only 11 houses in the fucking street......I've subsequently taken out a PO Box to avoid their failings.
