I've just heard Ronnie & Robyns' "Sidra"s Theme" on Heartbeat.

Surely out of time with the programme? Played as "Explosion Theme" at wigan in 1973 surely?

Just two hours ago...heard "Hide And Seek" played on Heartbeat also...Sliced Tomatoes has had the treatment also.Any others?

Don't bother trying to guess when Heartbeat is set, it started in 1992 set in the 60s and Nick Berry's character had been involved in dealing with student riots in London outside the American Embassy, before he moved to a sleepy village, which puts it about 1968 Then a few series down the line a bunch of mods turned up fresh from the Brighton riots (1964) and now they still wear 60s fashions but in the scheme of things it should be 13 years later, which puts it at either 1981 (Wigan closes) or 1977 (I discover northern).

Is it on ITV? Can't say i've ever watched it....

Think it was covered as Black Ship to Hell Johnny Adams Band.

Also saw a movie the other night & as a couple walked into a diner the jukebox was playing Storm warning Volcanos.

this record was played pre wigan easily 1972 the correct cover up title was 'the end of the world' by explosion

Last week on Heartbeat they had a new state of the art police car on trial that was a D reg (1966 ish) and then played an early 70s track. I notice these things but it doesn't bother me anymore. I believe it is basically a period drama set in the "sixties" for entertainment value only, not for analysis by us anoraks.

They also played the "Spy". Who was the "Hide & Seek" by?

In any case, although this show has played many great tunes, I think Sidras theme has to be the absolute most obsure so far.

They played it all and it fitted the moment and it was brilliant. Please track down the music selector for this show and get them interviewed.

I think any true NS devotee would plug our tunes if they were allowed to and although its not the first time, its still great to hear our music in unlikely places. Those patches with 'Keep the Faith' must have worked!!

Given I work here at Yorkshire TV that makes Heartbeat for ITV, I'll find out for you. As someone has already said though - it is basically a period drama set in the 60s and thus you can't really have a go at the accuracy of the dates etc as otherwise the show would have stopped long ago - we're currently on Series 14!! I'll report back in a bit...
