Pete,

Are you saying that you don't actually have this CD, just a copy?

Is that why you don'y have any title details etc?

No I've got them, I just don't like putting full details of Motown stuff on here after they got all my youtube stuff removed

Don't quite understand this question John.

What difference does it make?

No difference at all Pete, I just wondered if you were avoiding the question.

But your earlier answer - after my comment was a good enough explanation for me.

I hope it didn't upset you? wink.gif

Well I hadn't seen the first question and I replied to yours, and now I've gone back and replied to the first one.

Didn't upset me, just thought it was an odd comment.

Awesome soundclip. Remember seeing the Tops in the late 70s in Bournemouth and they did an absolutely brilliant accapella song as part of their set. Sadly the decaying brain cells have removed which one it was from my memory!

Pete,

One other thing - the link you posted, is it the actual CD with the track on - or just showing the series it's part of?

If the latter, can you name the volume the track is on?

Cheers thumbsup.gif

Wow what with that and the Aretha clip youve made a grown man cry. What a loss. Thanks Pete

Ian

"Ask The Lonely" was always my absolute favourite Tops recording and holds significant memories for me(!) Unfortunately the group rarely included it in their live act (only on one occasion at any of the shows I saw). An absolutely chilling song full of the poignancy of lost love and a fitting monument to the late Levi Stubbs.

This is what we've lost.

Thanks for the post Pete. As everyone has said it's wonderful.

Wish you'd have a rethink with Modern though. Like every genre, a lot of it may be shyte, but there are some gems there. One man's Joe Gibbs is another man's Althea and Donna.

was put on youtube last week i put the link up to it last week in the levi tribute https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OAvuieTTOVY yours is better quality though pete

Sorry mate I had no idea anyone had ever posted it anywhere - I was going through a back ups folder and found all of the a capellas, I flogged the originals a few years ago and just kept all the insts and vocals on the pc. It was the first time I think I've ever listened to it.

This is just stunning

Blimey.

Stunning it certainly is.

It is awesome but its only the vocal without the backing track and not a special take IMO just shows you the quality they had before it was pressed up on dodgy discs.
