Just got an Original blue copy of 'Lou Johnson - Unsatisfied' from the states.

After waiting 1 month for it to arrive, and also having to write to the seller to ask where it was (they'd forgotten to post it), it arrived this morning wrapped in one thin piece of cardboard, fastened with sellotape and sent half way across the world.

Needless to say, when I opened it, the record was cracked right the way across, knackered. What a damn waste of an original record of this calibre. Doesn't it make you angry that some people don't respect what they are selling?

Anyway, avoid like the plague this Ebay seller.

same seller, and sent the record to me packed in exactly the same way. I left him positive because the record was nice but I bollocked him privately.

That's right Ste, the more people that let him know that they are not happy with his service by leaving appropriate feedback the better. Otherwise how will he know? he needs a short sharp shock to make him come to his senses.

Steve just happened to me 2 days ago got a nice copy of Shane Martin I need you-Epic great price been after one for a while this time the record was packaged well but record arrived guess what hairline crack right across it going through the motions of trying to gey my money back at the moment. Ive at least had a return email saying he will return my funds on receipt of the record had to send it back to the states though.

I'm buying less and less of Ebay prefering to deal with sellers from SS in the UK who will strike a deal with you that both parties are happy with, and with records that turn out to be what they are supposed to be not boots or overgraded.

Hope we both get what we want - our money back

To be honest Gaz I don't see why you should even have to return the record especially with it being in the states. The only reason that a seller would do this is to make you pay more to get your money back and to put you through the maximum inconvenience that he can. I mean, what's he gonna do with a cracked record anyway apart from throw it in the bin, he can't sell it can he? I have sent a top quality photo link with my letter, and he can see that the record is the same one that he sent to me because of the markings on it so there is absolutely no reason tio return the record at all as far as I can see

My experience was similar, though not a broken record. Luckily, it only had to travel a very short distance.

at least it was cheap. I buy so many records on ebay and have to deal with so many shady sellers that I write off records like that and don't even leave negative feedback since if I get blocked, the seller is sure to have like my biggest want the next day. There's so many horrible sellers that it's often not if they are shady, but how shady they are, that determines whether I will deal with them and for what records and for how much.

Anyway, says he thinks he has another copy and do I want that if he has? I said yes as long as it is the same colour label and release and he wraps it properly. We'll see, I'll let you all know in a month or so, well! that's how long it took to come last time.

Yes should have done that as well but he insisted I send it back probaly to make sure I wasn't trying to kid him out of me getting the record for nowt because it did play but with a click every time the stylus ran over the crack.

Anyway we'll see if he is as good as his word is or I'll shame him on SS as well.
