Cameo Parkway 4box Cd Set - More To Come

As you may be aware its been said... "the fact that no Cameo- Parkway material has been released on CD by Abkco is one of the longest-running mysteries of the CD era"

Well seems that things are changing with a release in May in USA of a 4 boxed set entitled Cameo Parkway 1957-1967

Producer Jody Klein said on the Ice web magazine that "This catalog "has a diffuse artist roster. Some recordings were made for Cameo, and a great many were licensed from other small labels, so the whole process of locating sources was extremely difficult. It required a lot of man- and woman-hours."

"Later this year we'll follow the box with individual artist reissues on Bobby Rydell, the Orlons, the Dovells, Dee Dee Sharp, ? and the Mysterians, and the Tymes. These will have 25 tracks or so apiece. We can't mention any specifics, but we do have plans for digging further into the archives. This label was rich enough that the product should continue to flow, now that the faucet is open."
