This might be interesting. We just did this on another music board with LPs & ended up not even being able to find a common artist let alone single LP on a board of collectors with seemingly similar tastes. If we can't get a common 45 then it drops to common artist & failing that common label. It's interesting because things that you think are a give in are not kept in the collection by some people because they are either too common, or not representative of their favorite sound. Let lots of "I don't own that" followed by "how can you not own that" ensue :D You have to currently have the 45 in question filed, pressings don't matter so long as you can find it on 45 in your collection.

I'll get the ball rolling, does anyone here not have:

The Supremes "Baby Love"

The Temptations "My Girl"

???

ps. if you don't collect 45s please don't say no to everything just to wreck it like I think some people were doing on the other board.

None that I wouldn't swap for 5 minutes with Nicole Kidman and unfortunately that's all I'd need.

I think you'll find Mr. Eccles that the 3 front runners were all suggested by a certain extremely knowledgable pillar of the scene. Thank God he was here to tell me what to put down.

i like your suggestion - it's a record everybody should have.

one thing i like more than your suggestion is the picture of the demo - how much will one of those cost me? in fact, there is another thread on here that is talking about all the good folk on SS; you could show everyone how much of a 'good egg' you are and let me have your one :(

So is anything still live at the moment? I must admit that I've lost track a bit...

While I'm here I'll chuck this one into the mix as i can't see any earlier mention of it:

ROBERT PARKER - Barefootin'/Let's Go Baby

Dick a dum dum- Des 0

Grandad - Clive D

Mr Custer - Charlie D

I see you've all been playing nice.

I've not got Barefootin'

Tony, that Drake 45. Im sure I've got a Tamla 45 somewhere "Please Mr. Kennedy" [Micky Woods?]which I played and thought was a Drake version. Am I mad?

So everything is dead again. I can't help noticing that NZ has no Northern 45s which is a bit rich since he came up with this exercise in futility. How can you NOT have any 45s by the Artistics!!!

So next three titles if I may

Millionaires Never for me

Bobby Hebb Love love love

Volcanos Storm Warning

Marvin Gaye "Little Darling"?

Bobby Bland "Shoes" or "Yum Yum Tree"?

Anyone mentioned Clara Hardy on Tuna or Jackie Day on Phelectron? I thought everyone had these now.

Did every one buy the Rotations - When he slowly moves away from you.

I assume there's no limit on the age of the record?

Edited by tsu tomatoes

Here's another 2 suggestions then:

Archie Bell - Here I go again

Candi Staton - Too hurt to cry

I only have Candi on LP, mate. Sorry to knock another one off!

Did every one buy the Rotations - When he slowly moves away from you.

I assume there's no limit on the age of the record?

I thought there were only 500 copies or something like. If that's the case then clearly I'm not not one of everyone.

So I am no-one. Yet I am here.

oooeerr - it's turned into philosophy now

and I've only got Tighten Up by Archie (yes I know Rod - not NS, just saying...)
