Charades Acetate , Info?
google does take you to a brief bit of iinfo about a short lived Cleveland "the Charades" https://www.angelfire.com/ny/bolinfan/canyon.html clip Maver's next group, the Charades, formed in 1969 (evolving later into a slightly different version known as Charade). Steve Popovich, a friend of Maver's who was then working for Columbia Records in New York, introduced him to a Columbia vice president, who flew to Cleveland to hear the Charades play at the Agora. He signed them to Columbia, promising that Sylvester Stone, of Sly and the Family Stone, would produce their record. But a few weeks later, the vice president called to say he was leaving the label to manage Sly and the Farrely Stone and cotfid not take on any new projects. The Charades ended up signing with Columbia subsidiary Epic. They went to New York to record at CBS, released a single and opened for well-known artists. Then Epic told their manager that the label wanted the group to record an album at Columbia's new studios in San Francisco, under the auspices of two top Columbia producers. more info via the link

Deon Jackson RIP
Yet more sad news... The sad news that Deon Jackson has passed on has been reported in the forums by Ady C It's reported that he passed on in his sleep on April 19th 2014 at the age of 68 AMG clip entry below... Soul singer and songwriter Deon Jackson was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on January 26, 1946. He studied clarinet and drums as a child, and while in high school he formed his own vocal group, concurrently performing in area talent shows as a solo act, and composing his own original material. While performing one of those songs at a high school concert, Jackson was discovered by producer Ollie McLaughlin, who'd previously launched the career of soul diva Barbara Lewis; McLaughlin soon produced Jackson's debut single, 1962's self-penned "You Said You Love Me." The record was a Detroit-area hit, as was its follow-up, "Come Back Home,... http://www.allmusic.com/artist/deon-jackson-mn0000259524 more news http://destee.com/index.php?threads/r-i-p-deon-jackson.80219/ discography http://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/djackson.htm thanks

Video: Long After Tonight - The Last Days Of The Twisted Wheel,
Had the below passed on, a short 15 min film filmed on the last nite of the current Twisted Wheel.... A Manchester journalist has made a short film about the last soul sessions at the old Twisted Wheel building in Manchester before it was demolished to make way for a hotel. In the 1960s the venue hosted soul nights and performances by artists such as Ike and Tina Turner, Lee Dorsey and Ben E King, and it is considered to be the birth place of Northern Soul. The club closed in 1971 and went on to become Placemate 7, and more recently Legends, but DJ Pete Roberts resurrected soul sessions in 2000 using the Twisted Wheel name. James Graham's film, Long After Tonight - The Last Days of the Twisted Wheel, captures the final nights in December 2012, and the subsequent demolition. He said: "I work nearby and wanted to capture the building and everyone who went to the soul nights before it vanished. So many significant buildings are swept away and forgotten. "There's such passion amongst the Northern Soul crowd and the Twisted Wheel night is continuing at another club, but for them this venue was very special. I hope I captured that and also the way people and their passions tend to get swept away in the name of regeneration." The buildings were owned by Targetfollow and sold off when part of that business went into administration. They were picked up by London-based Olympian Homes which struck a development agreement with German hotel chain Motel One. Construction on the hotel is now underway. The lease was held by Julian Lyons who employed around 60 staff at the Hotel International, a pub called The Outpost and Legends.
