  7. Wasn't this a Karl Rhodes discovery? It was where I first heard it - and then managed to obtain a copy for myself, which is sitting in the box as we speak..
  8. Stevie, Mate.. Me - personally, would happily offer you the £1k (huh, it's only money, eh?) - a lifetime of just looking at it would more than recompense any outlay of that magnitude. But - alas... NAY! Unfortunately, the miserly excuse for a housekeeping budget allowed my Good Lady severely restricts her single item spending power (lest she amass a better collection than I..)- with purchases limited by the figure beggingly previously quoted
  9. Well I think you should sell it to me, Stevie - for £100 (plus p&p). BUT.. With the guarantee of 'peace of mind', due to the fact I would be making the purchase solely on behalf of my lovely wife - who rates Mr Green as one of her all time fave artists, and who NEVER unloads her vinyl delights (not by choice at least), purely based on the fact that each and every disc she owns has special memories attached - people, places, times, events, etc. For her to unload any of her vinyl pieces would be tantamount to sacrilege in her eyes, a massive injustice to her own beliefs, and a total disrespect to those aforementioned memories/reasons for treasuring an item in the first place! So a home where it would be treasured - just as if it were a child delivered through birth.. A home where it would be revered for an eternity (at least).. A home where it would be guarded more closely than even the Crown Jewels.. What better home could there possibly be? The knowledge that you have entrusted the safety and future of this iconic piece to a caretaker of my wife's ethos and pedigree is something you simply cannot equate in terms of monetary value.. Priceless !! So, Stevie... Is that a deal then?
  10. Great thread !! But then.. I was one of those Train Spotting Philatelists that always favoured, and found great attraction in, the more obscure 'foreign' releases of items over the original US format release.. Just saying like

  14. Looking for a decent copy at a decent price - please pm with details Thanks in advance SORTED NOW, AND THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSES.
  15. A later Pink Label release is the 'bad' version, methinks - with an added mouth organ from memory, but can't remember the label number..
  16. Right, tin hat on and securely in place.. Personally I think its a refreshing alternate to The Salvador's original!! AND.. It always pulled the punters on to the floor whenever I used to play it out - which was on a regular basis. It is also my understanding that it is indeed credited to The Carstairs and was supposedly cut in the early 90's when (as stated on here) they were over here making a few appearances. My final comment being the old adage of 'It would be a boring Scene if.. etc.
  17. Well, I for one am glad this thread has been resurrected - or else i might never have gotten to hear the classy 'Heaven Must Have Sent You'.. And I want one!! It is also a great honour and pleasure to have the artist responsible as a member on this forum. I must admit had I come across a copy of this 45 I would have bought it 'blind' anyway - simply because Wardell's name is on the credits! Not only a great talent himself, but with a talent for spotting talent!! And Cynthia, you most definitely are talented and it is such a great pity your vocal prowess is available on only the one vinyl 45. Did you by chance record much other stuff, that for whatever reason(s) never found it's way onto vinyl? If that were the case it would certainly be nice to hear a selection of 'unissued' material, and more of your super classy vocals - if some were to exist in either master tape or acetate format. Either way - thank you for the Qiana release.. It is one I will be looking out for now
  18. With none of the label credits creating a link to Leo Kulka or Golden State Recorders, would a consensus of opinion concur that I could then assume that the studio used to record the Vardan release was that of Golden State Recorders, and that Leo Kulka was directly involved with the studio itself - and that is my 'link', as opposed to Leo having some kind of involvement with the Lovers (nee Emotions) themselves? It would certainly make sense, but this indefatigable 'thing' inside me remains unsatisfied and HAS to know the answer!!! Are you in a position to throw any light on my supposition please Robb? It's really starting to seriously grate on me now as to why I assume some sort of (distant, even) link between the group, the studio, and Mr Kulka..
  19. Nice one Andy, at least it confirms I wasn't dreaming - and interesting to learn it's the same as the Philips release. As I can't enlarge the image of the Gate 45 I was wondering if there are any details listed on the label that indeed link it to either Leo Kulka and/or Golden State Recorders of San Francisco? I must have forged a link at some point, and for some particular reason? I just can't remember what it was!
  20. Didn't this also see (or destined for maybe) a release on Gate? Or have I just made that up.. Something to do with Leo Kulka, and Golden State Recorders of San Francisco? I still have a 12" one-sided studio acetate of the DTFM side -bearing thematrix of V-1602B
  21. 'Let Yourself Go' is the title Robb
  22. After being put in a position that forced me to sell all my treasured vinyl 3-4 years ago I still have about 15 LP boxes (most like new) kicking around that will never be of use to me again - free to good homes if peeps either wanna collect, or live between cambridge and the north east whereby I could arrange to drop off on my regular business travels - ideally north and east of the A14 and M1 respectively plus the A1 corridor north of the M62 up to Newcastle.. And Scotch Corner up to Carlisle! If of any interest to anyone please drop me a pm to discuss/arrange.
  23. DB every time for me - no brainer!
  24. CHARLES.. Of course! Thanks guys - Mark is a dog with a hair lip!!
