  1. Jesse Davis Storms 'Stormy' An ex Paratrooper in the U.S. forces, the foundations for his professional career were laid during his period of active service - when he bEgan singing at NCO clubs. Jesse later attended Michigan State College for 2 1/2 years. After leaving college he joined a group called the 'Fabulous Tones' - but this saw a short lifespan of only one year. Jesse's career has been one of predominantly Cabaret style shows, and has seen countless live performances.. appearing at the 'Dunes' in Las Vegas, the 'Chi Chi' Club in Palm Springs, the 'Condado Beach Hotel' in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the 'Palais 500' in San Diego, and the 'Latin Quarter' in Australia. He recorded 12 cuts for Essence Records, out of San Diego California, including four self-penned numbers. It is from this stage of his career that sees Jesse's rendition of 'Stormy' come to life - in a way never before witnessed.. or likely to be again.
  2. You would like it, Des.. 'Soul Talk' link below for ya.. https://www.raresoulforum.co.uk/
  3. My email has gone off already.. don't want to miss out on this. Brain already in overtime (.. some nice 'Unissued' stuff - with some Rare, LP Only bit's being forefront of my thinking thus far.. ) Can't Wait !! Fingers..

Saw one in Butch's box recently (100 club) sure it was marked at £800 !! Save yourself £792 & get the nice Green Vinyl'd 4 track 45 on the light 'green' coloured label. Sounds just as good !! Fingers..
  5. that tickle me, that did !!
  6. VAT is a UK tax. Import Duty, Ted, is only due if the goods are over a certain value - although I don't know the precise figure (your post office could tell you) I believe it is around the low three figure bracket.
  7. Funny name, for a cane.. 'Jerry White' !! but seriously , though.. I'm assuming, then, this LP is the one titled (on the outer cover) as 'Love Is A Gamble' (Ray Agee) while the crimson red label of the disc reads 'White Enterprises presents Ray Agee' (LW-102) ?? (wonder what 101 is.. ?? ) In-terest-ingly enough.. (and as I have, only just recently, been voicing to some folks) this album contains, what I believe could quite easily be the musical template for this thread's 45 of topic - 'I'm Losing Again' - found within the rifts used for the earlier 'Hard Working Man' (which saw a celeste 45 release) !! Mmmmm.. Fingers..
  8. Yes.. 'The Expensive One' !! I would say the 'Bargain' of this week has got to be the David Gage.. at just £453 - reckon you could almost treble that !! and the Homer Banks.. at only £444 !! Wot a couple 'o steals !! As for 'The Tempests' LP.. anyone wanna buy a superb German, (black) Phillips copy ?? A BARGAIN - at only £300 !! Fingers..

Male ?? Female ?? 60t's (Early, Mid, Late) ?? Only 'Tick Tock' thing that comes to my mind is an early 60's female thing (on Roulette ??)
  10. Think you will find, Pete, if you read the posting (you mentioned) again.. you will see it is a compilation album on uk columbia, which INCLUDES the said Artistics track.
  11. Two more wonderful additions to the LP collection - acquired over the weekend : Hayes Cotton Awesome 'modern' retakes of his 60's greats. The 'Black Wings..' being particularly tasty - Carl & Maria Willingham gave it an outing at Middleton on Saturday.. as I will next weekend on, at least, one of my two DJ bookings !! Various Artists (Carrie) 'THE' L.P. !! All Unreleased gems! from the likes of Clifford Binns; Edward Hamilton; (both with, and without) The Arabians; plus Cornell Blakely !! Both pieces are certainly, at the very least, 'ELUSIVE'.. and both extremely worthy, within their respective track content, of delivering 'Fresh', 'Class' tunes for any venues playlist. The type easily deserving to grace the nations turntables. With everything required to delight both the dancers and listeners.. and to fill the dance floors across the country !! Fingers..

The copy for sale in Butch's box is Ex and priced at £1800
  13. Okay - Mr Moderator.. I think this could with being linked to the same (but different) thread I just posted on.. Confused ?? You will be !! I think all my questions I asked there, have been answered on this 'thread' of the 'thread'. In particular, that SS username Hootenannie does, indeed own and possess said acetate (purchased ex Ady if i've got that correct !?!) Also satisfies query concerning having heard it played out. Seems incredibly likely to be the case. So.. just a further ?? are all the tracks on this 10" acetate now, or going to be, available via Neil's current venture ?? CHIZ !! Fingers..
  14. Is it possible to, please, relay on here any 'known facts' about: Confirmed existence of any actual original format(s) of these two sides? I didn't get to the Dome (sorry Mr D etal) so unaware of whether Mr Flynn suggests he owned at some point any original acetate(s) in existence ?? Although Neil responds that 'royalties' are paid to a 'gentleman in Detroit', that is not the concern of my issues. Relevant, I know, but of no consequence whatsoever to my point. Hootenannie - I'm afraid I'm not privelaged to have experienced the pleasure of any personal introduction and therefore remain unaware of the identity behind this particular SS username. Nonetheless I wonder if they would very kindly allow my impertenence - by clarifying or denying, for certain, the facts surrounding their posted comments & mentioning of acetates (and royalties) ?? Or was it perhaps just clever articulation on your part, and more a designed display of humorous musings particular to your preferences ? Or, indeed, a 'tongue in cheek' reference as to the actual current residence of any original ,acetate format, disc(s) and ownership of the Title to the said acetate(s) ?? My ever increasing addiction to the drug of 'C-S' (or, Chin-Stroking) forces my cheeky attempt at a 'quick'(but totally satisfying) shortcut to satisfy my necessary 'Fix' , which itself was only induced by the postings (so far) of this thread.. Please Help Me!! 'Desperado' Fingers..
  15. That's the day's when, with only three 'known' copies, all resided within a 50 mile radius of each other in East Anglia.. mine, Kev Draper's and, of course, John Anderson's !! I feel East Anglia has alway's been hard done buy when it comes to recognition for their (ongoing, even) contribution(s) to our wonderous Soul Scene. (Look at the stuff Glen Bellamy, for example, has 'unearthed'.. where the DJ's he's sold them to have gone on to make them 'Classics' and attain the associated recognition of 'breaking' them). Fingers..
  16. Hmmm.. Already got an issue, and was half tempted to take the white promo off Butch when I saw it in his box at Burnley, but distracted by 'other' offerings he had. When I saw him two weeks later at the 100 Club it had gone - that's obviously why !! Fingers..
  17. Oh dear.. that made the rib cage ache Just goes to show though, what I've always believed anyway.., that it's in the genes - just looking for a way out (any body got their address.. ?? could send 'em some flyer's.. ??)
  18. Well Done That Man !! Top Scan.. I mean MAN Also confirms my memory not to be quite as bad as I usually give it credit for.. the two 'J's' I mentioned actually being located at the end of the 'branding iron' and, as I stated, the reason I believe it to be from the Jesse James stable of labels. Either way.. defo an 'obscurity'.
  19. Okay.. so both my points of reference are, in fact, correct with the information they each list - just that both are incomplete. The 'I've Gotta Find ...' title being the one that arose my interest in the first place and prompted this posting. Many thanx Boba.. Question now begs: 'Does anyone have the 'IGFOFM' release ?? and if so would it please be possible to post a clip ??
  20. WoW !! Is there any chance, please Boba, of release numbers ?? I referred to the Stax'O'Wax catalogue for my info - but, as they make clear, it is by no means complete.. resulting in my current belief perhaps not being entirely accurate. Appreciate your assistance. Fingers..
  21. Look forward, Dean, to hearing about anything more you may learn from Bobby. Bags first shout if you get any 45's off him !! Fingers..
  22. That tickled me.. Great Stuff !!
  23. If I'd bothered to get off my chair in the first place, and dig out the label listing, I could've saved everyone the time. It turns out the initial point of reference I used listed incorrect details !! Which made me wonder if this 45 saw two releases - with different flip titles. I can now confirm there is only the one release - and agree that the issues appear to be less common than the white demo's. Appreciate your input. Fingers..
  24. Cheers for that scan Brett.. First time I've seen it !! I was actually looking for the 45 when I came across the LP & yes, you're right - Paul, in fact, played it at last Sat's Greatstone. Fingers ..
