Heard Archie Bell Here I Go Again on an advert for SAGA holidays I wonder if its the lyric content or the vintage of the song that appealed .

  11. In my experience there's not too many clean copies of that about, sound file sounds pretty good to me, but I'm always suspicious of photos that don't detail the vinyl, especially at that price BTW whats a minter worth £300.00?
  12. Sweet Things World of trouble was in the trailer too thats one I havn't heard out for a longtime
  13. Could have asked Santa to drop it off for you
  14. 33 MINITS OF BLUES AND SOUL released in 1968

  16. Album track only on Ray Charles Crossover label.....'Fresh' is the albums title, The 45 is on SOUL HQ through Joe Boy Niel Rushton I think album's between £40-£100
  17. UK Atlantic issued a lot of northern sounds in the 70's Drifters 'Dues' Tony and Tyrone Please Operator to name two how come they never issued this one?
  18. Why would you take Jimmy Beaumont before JP Robinson?
  19. Isn't that "All Over the World"
  20. NO dutch release was Jan 1970, it was played of an LP at the Casino assume to be Soul on the Rocks, along with Marvelettes Only Your Love can save me , the brilliant Ain't No Sun (since you've been gone) by Chuck Jackson and one by Gladys Knight that I canna remember the title of, the latter 3 never made it to 45.
  21. Grey/ Silver is actually the white demo, 1st release is red Mercury label, and the picture one is later (but not by much) probably released while the label was changed (same number)
  22. So 'demo' as in a copy played to other singers then, rather than 'demo'promo copy for radio DJs etc.

Last UK Linda Jones went for £100 on the bay (seems like the well known northern stuff is going for a premium now whether stone original or dubious how long will it last)
  24. I can remember getting into the Casino on that first night to the strains of the Sherry s, my mate Kevin Horsewood , Moira and Penny were all northern soul novices at the time, we'd arrived in Wigan at 8 that night not realizing the whole thing didn't kick off until 1,so we were pretty much 1st in the queue, having only had one previous outing to The Raven in WItchurch, we thought every record played was a Wigan exclusive, seem to remember the Invitations Skiing in the Snow,Patti Austin Music to my Heart & Pain stain as well as Melba Moore Don't Cry being featured during those early days.Great to hear Gwen and Ray again (rare one that). Great podcast looking forward to the next one Thanks Pete, John
