  1. ...Is this a genuine first issue Brazenose st barrow---or is it one of the legit reissues used at Whitworth st?
  2. .....very bizarre--if you stare at them long enough you can almost hear the memories.....
  3. If no offers are forthcoming Mark--have you considered approaching Manship and put them up for auction. He did a superb job with Frank Wilson. .......while I'm on --I'm sure somewhere I've got a 'Watneys Red Barrel' beer mat from the Sneyd Arms Tunstall circa 1972.....
  4. Quite right to bring some attention on this. I was intrigued listening to the radio last night when Francis mentioned this. A very very creditable venture this--and as you say --close to a lot of peoples hearts. Lets hope someone on here can have a word with the 'self appointed agent' for this--and give him a 'nudge' in the right direction
  5. .....bit of a looker as well ole Bill was...... They became known as "The Mighty O'Jays" due to their exciting , emotion-packed stage performances, led by the dynamic Levert, and the cool, multi-range vocals of Walter Williams, coupled with the matinee idol looks and smooth first tenor voice of William Powell.
  6. Blimey thats a record in itself Frank bet you were the only one from Mow Cop who went the wheel? There were a couple (two brothers?) from Scholar Green that went circa 68-70?
  7. That would be Gary then would it .....must say he does a crackin job and as has been said before knows what to expect at a soul night
  8. Blimey Julie ---dont think even me and Steve(proudlove) go back as far as some of the boys mentioned so far(we are mere whippersnappers) Possibly late 60's weekday nights at the Torch is our limit. Mid week nights and school next day lol(high on nail varnish remover ) However, I was reminded the other day about an old girlfriends brother Tony Smith (gave us a right bollocking once when we skived school and played his records all day! lol)who was an original Torch DJ --(barmy Barry era ) circa 66. Not on the current scene though--should have got him for Ryan Hall on reflection

  13. Thanks chaps--a great help again. Nice to know about the flip also. Yeah picked it up pretty reasonable--was just concerned about its rather 'boot like' appearance! Thanks again 'relieved of Tunstall'
  14. was this booted. just seen a quite plain Val label with white background and basic red lettering on (it aint a white demo)--but shouldn't the Val label be more detailed again any help appreciated thanks 'confused of Tunstall'

  18. .....while I'm on Major's coat can't be far off as a must have bit of memorabilia
  19. . On a chin stroking note--we got a bit of a debate going on the Torch reunion website about what is the rarest Torch sound--looking like Pat Lewis --No one to love .. so far and yes Steve you can brick the entrance up lol .....but knowing the council round here, they would probably ask if you've got planning permission for it
  20. We have managed to hire a seperate 'chill out' room downstairs at the Ryan Hall. This is intended for record/memorabilia dealers and for folks to have a drink and a break from the 'Frenzy' of upstairs if needed It is in its original form a pool room--but I can probably fit 3 maybe 4 tables in for the record dealers (wall paper paste table size.) We have got one deffo that has booked a space. It will still leave room for those that want a break to sit and have a drink and a chinwag...and a chinstroke while yer in there There is room for a couple more tables. So those that have tickets and want to peddle their wares can you pm me on here. I need to sort out logistics of setting the room up before the event. first come---yer know the drill folks. 10 days to go
  21. Cheers Roger Thanks for that. So the one with the instr on the flip IS a legal re-issue. Came across the above the other day for a very reasonable price and was even more confused when looking on Manship and saw a variety of 'em Was the Sequins--he's a Flirt booted on a brown Renfro--seen one of them as well on me travels Anyway thanks for the above info mate cheers Jez
  22. Evening folks Don't normally come in here(bit outa me depth ) but got a bit of a query. Case of love--Sequins....Whats the score with boots/reissues on this one Just had a quick dabble on Mr Manships site and there seems loads Any help greatly appreciated cheers Jez
