Killer track. There's also another brilliant track on it as well. It's wierd, the whole LP is typical 80' drum programmed, synth 80's clatter, but there are 2 tracks where proper musicians and instruments are used. It goes without saying that these are the 2 killers on the LP. Sorry, not selling mine though. Jordi

Are you sure? My lp has the full track on it and it's better than the 45 because that bass line hook that we all used to stomp / shuffle to back in the day is longer than the 45. At the end of the lp there is also, as you say, a reprise of the bass line hook and then fade out. Great lp by the way, some brilliant slowies on there. Jordi

I first heard this in one of Mick Brown and Andy Macintyre's brilliant sets about 10 years ago and I've fantasized about owning a copy ever since, but a bit like all my fantasies it has n't come true. My only hope is for me to have some dirt on a dental scandal involving my bro and I could blackmail him for his copy.

Powerhouse is an ace double sider, I prefer the other side. Really good price on this and you never see it up for sale anymore.

You can't beat the feeling of holding a piece of black American history and staring at the label and imagining it spitting off the press 30 - 40 years ago, letting yourself be transported to a distant time and place where a group of guys were in a studio singing and playing their hearts out, hoping this recording might just get them some fame and money. And here you are down the strange path of history, actually holding the very thing that they made, which never did get them fame and money but has definately bought joy to many people unknown to the the group who made it. Hi Nev and Nemrhod, I now know that mine is a re issue, looking at the scans and knowing there should be a stamp in the run out. I'm pissed off about it as the seller said it was an orig. It's too late to do anything now as I bought it in Sept. 09 and have always believed it was an orig until now. Jordi

Yes, I'd like to know the difference between the original and the re. I bought one off ebay a year or so ago, supposedly original. I sold it on earlier this year but the buyer sent it back as he was unsure if it was an orig. Anyone got any info? Jordi

Yep, I had this off Flanny some years back. It wasn't for a testicle though. Seem to remember getting Gangster Boy, Fabulous Caprices and something else for a copy of Stan Martin's LP. Seemed like a very good deal at the time and an even better one now. I remember asking Flanny if the Gangster Boy was a legit thing when he was describing the test press, because I couldn't quite believe he was letting it go in the trade.
