  1. Just make sureyou get either the US white demo (styrene) or the UK Mint (proper vinyl) because these have the full length track on. If you get the US issue it has a shorter version. Jordi
  2. There's one on ebay mate.
  3. Killer flip "Gig on my back", has got to make this one of the top 2 siders out there. 400 - 500 pricewise I would say. Jordi

    Very nice video trailer. Jordi
  5. Massive favourite of mine Paul. I just love part 2 of the 45. Impossible not to nod your head to the brilliant bass. Jordi
  6. Hard Road about £150 Ronnie McCain £150 Emulations....... well...... one went through ebay at over $1600. I would have thought about £350-£400 but I may be well out of touch on this. Great record though, even if it is a bit muddy in the mix. Jordi

Yes it is Paul, but it's a shorter edit and cuts off the best chunk off the lp version. (imo). I would have thought £100 for it? Jordi
  8. Yes, I've got one too Pete. It's the other side that's the crossover dancer and bloody great it is too. It's a shame the recording is crap and it's a very low cut press. Both sides are fantastic though. Jordi

Wrong kind of funky northern Dylan. I think the type of stuff the orig poster meant was the faster stuff with 'tighten up' style rhythm guitar, shuffling 'funky' drummer style drum beats (not 4x4 northern 'classic' beat), busy bass lines, lots of brass lines and general high excitement captured in the grooves. Definately NOT your Memphis funky soul plodder type of tune. Jordi
  10. I reckon it was probably a case of people not bothering to bid thinking that it was going to go go sky high. Must admit it's never been a massive fav of mine, always a bit manic in the chorus' for me, although I do like the verses. PS. good to see ya on Sat. Nev, I take it you got back home alright. Jordi

Come down to Leicester Revolution bar tomorrow (Sept 11th, 8pm till 4.30am) and you'll here plenty. Jordi
  12. What's this go for now then Jason? I thought it was a £200 tune also, not that I'm selling mine. Jordi

Get the LP as it's the full length take instead of the edited 45. Brilliant tune. Jordi
  14. I think you could only make this work if it is a very stylish bar, in the style that a lot of European bars do so well, a lot of mod and post mod references and style from 50's,60's & 70's films, design, clothes and recording artistes. This would be appealing to a younger, stylish crowd who as well as enjoying the look and style of the place, would absorb and enjoy the music being played. If it is styled like a Wigan Casino throwback with all the car boot tat for sale at Prestatyn, pictures of Arthur Scargill Russ Winstanley on the walls, with bouncers on the door wearing baggies and beer towels, then I don't think it will catch on to be honest and if anything add more ridicule onto the scene. Just my opinion. Jordi
  15. Or Luther Vandross?
  16. I think most of the great 2 step / mellow funk stuff came out between 80 and 84, before the production style changed to electronic 'clatter'. So many great records ruined by that cheap production. It was obviously cheaper for record companies to record artistes in this way, no orchestras, brass sections, percussionists etc. Jordi
  17. He also sang backing vocals on Bowie's "Golden Years". I think that must have been one of his earliest ventures on to vinyl. Jordi
  18. A cracking turnout and a beautiful day to say goodbye to Max. A packer to say the least ( it was always going to be), a big church full and a massive overspill on the grounds outside the church, with a very nice, well presented ceremony piped through to all of us outside. Too many faces there to mention but Max would have been proud at the turnout. I had to laugh at the Wolves display on the back of the coffin, although I was hoping that his coffin would have been a big version of one of the many record boxes that I have bought from him from his shop. RIP fella. Jordi
  19. Just managed to find a postcode for any sat navvers. WV11 2BW Jordi
  20. Ha!! my son asked me in the car the other day, "dad, why are all your records sung by people with a lisp?". I'd just played Marion Javius - "Waiting in the wings", followed by the Headliners - "Little Sister". I told him to shove a thock in it. Jordi
  21. Ethel Beatty on hold.
  22. Conrad Benjemin LP "Saturn".(Nebula) (M-). £250. contains 2 killer modern soul dancers "I Didn't Love You" and "Why Should I Think The Way You Do". also virtually every track is fantastic funk/jazz/ soul played as tight as you could imagine, a very rare sought after LP. C.J.Surge - "Be My Love" (Boston Heights 12") (M-) £250. Holy grail, mid tempo Detroit modern rarity, very small local press run. Awesome tune. Ethel Beatty - "I Know You Care"/"It's Your Love" (Uno Melodic 12") (M-). £300. I really don't want to sell this piece of utter genius. Roy Ayers producing one of the most mesmerising slices of funk/soul, dancefloor TNT, backed with the incredible floating jazzy soul gem. So rare on original 12", absolute holy grail 12". More sales later. Paypal and postage extra (sorry). PM if interested. Jordi

Isn't that a different track Arthur? Forgot the title now, but it uses virtually the same backing track as 'good lovin' but it hasn't got the horns or the 'punch' that 'Good Lovin' has. Jordi
