Mine's green label on vinyl. Don't think I've seen a yellow label, mind you I can't say I've seen many copies at all. Jordi
  2. Brilliant post John, it'd be great to read your comments/thoughts/opinions/experiences on SS more often. I can only echo what has been said by everyone on here. I'm totally gobsmacked and stunned. Certain people made me feel very welcome when I got back into the scene in the early '90's, no patronising or looking down their noses at me, even though these people knew so much about the music and the history and I knew very little, apart from what I liked. Max, Gary Holyman, Neil Rushton (who bravely let me DJ for him a few times at Trentham Gardens), John Pugh, Johnny Glover, Kenny Onions and others, you all eased me back into the scene and I feel honoured to be able to call you all friends. Rest in peace Max. Jordi
  3. Killer tune and a genuine proper rareity after most of the stock got burnt in a warehouse fire, I believe. I wouldn't sell mine.
  4. I was listening to "Hanging on to a lie" last night and while I was mesmerised by the awesome rhythm guitar playing, I wondered who the musicians would have been. I guess they would have been a different set of guys from the Curtom stable of musicians that they later recorded with. Also, would these guys have recorded on any other stuff we know. I await your answers oh knowledgeable ones. Jordi
  5. Here ya go Benji. https://cgi.ebay.com/JIM-SPENCER-SON-RIZE-The-Blues-Are-Out-To-Get-M_W0QQitemZ260366693375QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item3c9f1073ff
  6. No Val, he has n't entered the murky world of cyberspace. Pigeons with little post it notes tied to their feet is how Gaz does his dealing. Gaz is on tonight at the Lowton Civic back room (with me) if anyone wants to hear a sample of his broad taste in all things soulful. Jordi
  7. Yeah, sorry Paul I went back and checked after I'd posted. It's "Flying Machine (the Chase)". Forgot to mention the wicked flute and bass in it also. Jordi
  8. The Chase track off theYoungblood LP is one of the best Latin jazz funk instrumentals you'll ever hear (imo) and it's never further than a couple of feet away from my deck at home. Absolutely awesome drumming and percussion with a killer nagging Latin piano groove and moody synths. Jordi
  9. My old "Pimp" boot has "My hang up" on the other side. Jordi
  10. Pm'd you Yann.
  11. Is it a slightly different mix also? I'm sure the Contempo version is a bit more sparce sounding. Jordi
  12. Too many people called Jordi on this forum. Jordi (UK)
  13. It isn't though Steve, as it's only the bewildered soulie who buys this tat. what it is, is people on the scene making opportunist bucks out of an ever shrinking scene with less and less disposable income. It hasn't gone any more overground than it ever has. Luckily there is more than one scene under the umbrella of 'Northern' where this stuff is harder to come across than a copy of R. Dean Taylor on Ric-Tic. I'm sure we'll be having dance competitions at certain weekenders soon for the 'best authenticly dressed' kids that have been dragged to the weekender by their parents. Top prize being all you can drink blue slush puppy in a northern soul cup that you can keep and a photo of the winning kid superimposed on an old photo of Mr. M's dancefloor dressed in his/her finary.
  14. Stephane (Amer on soul source) is a good guy. I sold him a quite expensive tune and held my breath as I half expected some problems, but he was great, paid straight away and thanked me when it arrived. Jordi
  15. Top post Mossy, says it all mate. The excitement and freshness of this band is a big hope for getting people who are out in the wilderness musically, into soul / funk music. Someone should get them over here because you just know they would be the business as a live band. People who think they like live indie bands etc. would not know what fu** hit them if they saw these guys, it would throw them into all sorts of turmoil. Jordi
  16. Ian, I would reckon £150 would be reasonable on this. It has gone for a fair bit more but it has also gone for a fair bit less. It comes up on ebay now and again. Jordi
  17. Very fair, realistic price Christian. I can't understand why this goes for loads of money. It's a great 80's tune, don't get me wrong, but it goes for crazy money on ebay and it ain't that rare. It's always sounded like a £150 type of tune if you know what I mean, and I've got a copy so I suppose I'm being my own sales prevention officer here. Jordi

Ask on the Funk Forum Steve, someone should have one, Adam Leaver, George Mahood etc. Nice moody, dark, oddball tune that I've heard Cliff Steel play out a couple of times.
  19. Stephen, it's the Invitations not Vibrations.

    Gorgeous tune Nev.

Good to see some promoters getting the European lads to DJ over here, well done Chris.
  22. Yep they should do. That Wendy Lynn is another killer that you just never see and a bargain price.
  23. What a great list Goran. Waymond Hall is a steal at that price and what a killer tune, this must fly out!! Jordi
  24. I don't know of any boot of this. It looks real to me. Jordi
