  1. I did know it was also on this label. Can't remember who it was that had a copy on this in early 80's. Could it have been Adam? Not too sure. Anyway, was always told it was shit rare on Top Level ....... ( Sorry Mace!!)

Every record that gets played, no matter who's playing it, will be 'new' to some and all 'ready known' to others. I wonder what the artists who recorded these records would think about someone saying you can't play that because someone else played it once 30 years ago? Cos somehow i don't think they made their records exclusively for certain people. Surely they were made for as many people as possible to get enjoyment from. So what if someone played a record 30 years ago. They ain't playing it now. You are. Of course there are exceptions, as with everything. There are certain records that will always be attributed to a certain DJ. And rightly so. And in that case i don't agree with other people to start playing it too. It's just simple respect. But if that DJ is no longer around or not DJing any more - does that mean no one else can play that record? I would like to think there aren't too many out there, stuck that far up their own arses, to think like that. You stick with it girl !!
  3. AND WILL IT BE CALLED......... 'THE BIG DADDY HOUSE'?
  4. Didn't know you had a staff Ian. That's a picture of my staff Mitzie. You wouldn't believe she's nearly 11!! Anyway, just in case we get accused of going off topic - WANTED - PICTURES OF STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER'S THAT LOOK LIKE TED AND MITZIE.
  5. Thanks Alan. (Note to myself - GET A GOD DAMN PRICE GUIDE WENCH!!)
  6. Ian - you've right cheered me up!
  7. Had 3 of these - Ella Woods, Caressors, Fortson & Scott (Grrr!). Only have Ella Woods now. Anybody got an idea how much it goes for? It's always nice to know ....... Loads, Joan x
  8. Can't remember where it was, so apologies if it wasn't yorkshire. But i did see " BRAIN RAE " was down as the guest!!
  9. Of course. Thankyou Andy.
  10. A lot of people feel let down by the way things have turned out - and i can't say i blame them. But I have always found Christine and Rod to be nice people. And, unlike the majority it seems, i wish them all the best in whatever they do.
  11. I agree. You definitely shoul have been kept informed of what the situation was.
  12. I'm obviously missing something here? Mind telling me what please? Thanks, Joan
  13. I'd just like to say how sorry i am to hear that Sheridans has finally been sold. I'm sure i'm not alone when i say what a fantastic little venue this was. It had everything. From being a cracker of a club - to having the best bar staff and most easy going management i've ever seen. What other venue let's you carry on until you decide you've had enough and it's time to go home? I don't think any of us appreciate just how much hard work and effort - not to mention money - Christine and Rod invested in this place. I'm sure i speak for many when i say a big thankyou to them both for everything they've done for us over the years. It really is appreciated. Love and best wishes to you both. Now and always, Joan xx
  14. Bernard Smith & Jokers Wild - Got to be a Reason - Groove. FANTASTIC RECORD (and not a lot of money either!!) :good:
  15. Christian H you're the man. Haven't laughed so much in years.
  16. Does the fact that you don't dance to certain records make them 'not' soul records? Or should that convince me to 'not' like them? I would've thought you'd be over the moon that there are so many of us out there with such terrible taste in records. Leaves all the proper stuff for you. Take care Joan x
  17. Like i said............ WHAT DO I (& the countless others out there who dance to this shite) KNOW. Take care, Loads, Joan x PS: appreciate all the trouble you went to with your post!
  18. So let me see.....that's ESTHER GRANT SHARON McMANN LONETTE MARY SAXTON BUDDY CONNNOR LES CHANSONETTES DELEGATES OF SOUL that you think are crap. If i hear ANY of these records played - it makes my night just that bit better. If i was to hear them ALL on the same night I'D FEEL SURE I MUST HAVE DIED ON THE WAY & GONE STRAIGHT TO NORTHERN SOUL HEAVEN. Not saying they're the 7 most soulful records of all time....... But hey, what do i know......? Joan
  19. Erm......... no.... ............ i'm pretty sure i just asked the one question.
  20. Hi Kenny, Look what Dave's just dug out and sent me..........
  21. I'm sorry.... but are you the Christian who also thought Esther Grant was crap? Loads Joan
  22. I'll second that Kev. We've had a Stafford reunion ...... SO HOW ABOUT SHOTT'S? Loads Joan x
  23. Jumpinjoan replied to a post in a topic in Record Wants
I'll second that - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC RECORD!!! Been playing this for the last few years. As for price - £30 seems very cheap - although, i guess, it's about right. If record prices were determined by the amount of soul they had in them - NONE OF US WOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD THIS ONE!! FANTASTIC. Loads, Joan
