  1. was just thinking it funny the price of some records thinking about yesterdays Skip Jackson 'I'm onto you girl' thread. I bought the Skip and this one at about the same time (1987) paid £5 for Skip now fetching up to £200 and prob about £3 or £4 for Oscar, now about £20. both great records imo, and maybe more Oscar's around, but still... maybe a change in taste kinda thing. yeah, i'm bored
  2. bout £20 i'd have thought

    i really like that!
  6. paid £5 in 1987 for mine
  7. think the ebay advert said there was one other known copy pete. i like 'lord' and 'gloria' so bound to like this. i contacted Ellery Eskelin quite a few years ago and he's got hardly any records that his father recorded, which i found quite sad.
  8. totally agree Winnie. but with the new venue the 6T's club can still continue to be the best niter for years to come :-) (and we went to Jacks last week and found it without getting lost once!!)
  9. A few things listed today for sale, including, Kell Osbourne, Black Eyed Peas, Royal Five Click here: eBay: Black Eyed Peas - Smallest Man Alive . N Soul 45 (item 130068806572 end time Jan-23-07 13:50:20 PST)
  10. pete, really liked 'i'll never fall in love'
  11. the yellow one is the Demo. i got the demo and most i have seen listed have been demos, so i'd say issue is harder, but obviously i havent seen all for sale, dont think it would make a difference in price imo.
  12. its on decca credited as the Jive Fyve (five) i think, cant be bothered to go look at it. £35 to £50 ish. great record
  13. He (Halll) is on the wirting credits too - but i seem to remember they put his name as 'Haul' or something like that.
  14. a mate got one out of a box at a nite earlier this year for £150. And as i've got one i'd say £500 is about right LOL
  15. me too i like both sides of the stemmons 45 myself, vocally not up to the precisions imo, but both worthy. Edging toward 'love thief' against 'misery' just for atmosphere
  16. i allways thought that too, 'stemmons' may not be but the label is out of california. i read somewhere a few years ago that an early incarnation of Fleetwood Mac also had a 45 out of the label, recorded and released in Calif. it also said that 'stemmons' came out at about the same time 1968/69 which puts it after the Precisions. I can't find the article right now, but found the 45 on popsike (pete, if that's the one you got it went for $800 a few years ago), the label number has rubbed off my Stemmons 45 so cant see if it came before or after the 'fleetwood' one.
  17. allways thought this was a solid £20ish. still i got one, so dont care. no matter what, it's a fookin' great record.

    is that not Bobby Day...?
  19. thats right paul, it was to stop dealers/wharehouse/shops returning a 45 (or cut album) for a full credit. as for the Portsmouth/Southampton link, i can concur with that. many a time i have picked a Sensations or Don Gardner off southsea beach and used it for skimming. my 'record' being 5 skips from an Al Wilson; not betting my bestest ever of 8 from a nice flat pebble though.
  20. Shit, i can't get that link to work Tony. Guess i will just have to keep it now
  21. me neither, and i allways thought it was a great record (though allways knew it was 'country Ed') but now i am told it IS a country OR western record. maybe i shall sell mine - any one got a link for the C&W Forum?
  22. good tops Tony, pint your way when we're at the bar next
  23. back on track... four vandals for me. northern soul? Yes!
  24. Janine spoke to his lastnight, don't think he has been on line much lately, then again he may have burnt entering the church at his new soul do
