If you lived in Manchester at that time, most the shops (Ivors, Justins etc) were supplied by a firm called Arthur Gatenby just off Silk Street in Salford. If you had a girlfriend who worked there, , they could buy from the factory at no more than 2 quid a pair, so you had all the latest colours/designs before they hit the shops.... Tony
