Ever Seen One Of These?
Why would a UK recording studio make an acetate of a record that was simply being released, as opposed to recorded, in the UK ?. I'm no expert in the recording process but I don't see the point, surely its more likely that someone wanted the record prior to its Route issue and so had an acetate made personally. Edit Ooops just noticed its got the Route catalog number on it.

Record Missing In The Post
Ask the buyer if he will co-operate with a claim, if he wont then I would be suspicious. I've always done this and the buyer has always got a refund for total value.

Record Missing In The Post
I insist on signed for to Spain/Italy no matter what the value. If they don't want to pay it I ask them to pay by Paypal Gift which means they cant claim off you and its at their risk.

Record Missing In The Post
I usually fill the form and send it to the buyer along with the postage receipt. When you claim, do you claim for what the buyer paid you or what you originally paid for the record, how do you provide proof of value. I'm not arguing just trying to establish how you get around the value aspect of the claim. RM states it will only refund what the claimant paid for the item, which can be very different for seller/buyer.

Record Missing In The Post
I beg to differ. I always get the buyer to claim because he can prove what he paid, whereas I cant, for records I bought donkeys years ago. Its always worked for me in the past. Obviously the buyer has to co-operate.

If you have the postage receipt get the buyer to claim off the Royal Mail.

I'm 18, This 'northern' Thing Is Not Mine To Have
That's quite correct there isn't and to be honest I don't think that "look" is very prevalent on today's scene. In fact its quite rare these days at most of the events I've attended over the last few yeas or so.

I'm 18, This 'northern' Thing Is Not Mine To Have
Actually I've never subscribed to the idea that "baggy trousers" were a northern soul thing. They were a general UK "fashion" thing that came onto the scene during Wigan's early years. They were not a scene fashion thing that spread to the general population, the exact opposite was the case.

Well you live and learn. Never thought for a moment that Patti Jo's version would have made it to vinyl before Curtis's.

Ebay Badge Sale ! Really :)
Yeah the first night. There was quite a queue outside but we were quite near the front. I remember a right scrum when they opened the doors, everybody pushing and shoving. When we got upstairs it was virtually empty and looked massive. Dont think it was anywhere near rammed that night, probably half or less of capacity. There were fewer people on the scene then, as opposed to 3/4 years later. You have to remember that the Torch preceded it and that was rammed with 600/700 people in there. As for the future, never gave it a thought, but it was by far the biggest venue, to hold regular all nighters, by a mile up to that point.

Ebay Badge Sale ! Really :)
I have to say I dont remember any of that and I was there that night. Totally off my face but there nonetheless.

Ebay Badge Sale ! Really :)
There were no badges/patches on sale at the first Wigan all nighter, thats got to be a fake, for a start Kev didn't do the first one as far as I can remember. Why would anybody produce patches for the first night ?, not knowing whether anybody would turn up or not.

Same lyrics, totally different backing.

Steve Mancha - Friday Night....anyone Lucky?
Although Steve Mancha isn't a bad record, Johnnie Taylor's version is far superior.
