The blurred line...
I didn't know she covered it. Interesting - thanks for putting it up. Her version is much better though.

I wouldn't have thought there was much overlap between Blackpool Mecca and Studio 54.

Soft & Gentle Ways is a brilliant piece of music- Belated tribute to Teena Marie (Boxing Day - 8th anniversary)
Love Starved from the posthumous Beautiful album is fantastic. Also, First Class Love which was also released posthumously and included her previously unreleased pre 1979 Motown material, mostly produced by Ronnie McNeir, is well worth checking out.- Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
But surely not everyone who wants to own this 45 is a DJ? Even one that will play records only.- Ernest Ernie & The Sincerities - 7" release
I kinda agree. It's readily available on all sorts of formats at decent prices so there's easy ways for everyone to listen to it whenever they like. Why pay big bucks for a very recent 45? It's not worth the price difference. Also, personally, I think there's much better recent stuff out there on 45 that you can get for a decent price e.g. Super Disco Edits- Belated tribute to Teena Marie (Boxing Day - 8th anniversary)
Yeah she did lose her way a bit in the 80s/90s but she was bang on form again with her albums in the 2000s. La Dona, Sapphire and Congo Square are all excellent.- Men jailed for โfakeโ vinyl records scam
I picked up two of the Marvin Gayeโs on the night at Bretby in 1996. Only got one left though. Traded one for a CD on the night.- Belated tribute to Teena Marie (Boxing Day - 8th anniversary)
Dรฉjร vu is my favourite of hers. So sad listening to it considering her early demise. I saw her last ever concert in London 11 months earlier and she was fantastic.- Favorite two-step tracks/artists?
I often get confused about what is classified as two step but would've thought this qualifies- Nancy Wilson R I P

Such a great singer. RIP Nancy- Bobby Story - Storyteller - Proud
I bought mine from Crazy Beat when it came out, after hearing Richard Searling play "It's Got To Be Mellow" at the Kings hall modern room. Personally I prefer "Let's Do Something Different". What a tune!- Sad News Paul Trouble Anderson Passed Away
I last saw him at the Margate Soul Festival in July. Despite having his arm in a sling, he played a blinder and was loving every song he played. He was on a different level to most.- Info needed: Women on the Northern Scene
Jo Wallace.- Northern Soul & Motown Venues California
There was a thread earlier this year about events in the Bay area. Enjoy your trip. I did a similar one last year and loved SF and San Diego in particular.- Ain't No Big Thing - Scotty Todd
๐ Great song though- Ain't No Big Thing - Scotty Todd
That's a different song altogether.- Poll: Version Battle - I Watched You Slowly Slip Away
Good one. Howard G for me. Reminds of Alan H's set at These Old Shoes about 18 years ago.- clocks go back this weekend
I remember being at the King's Hall, Stoke allnighter about 18 years ago and insisting they keep the bar by the modern room open an hour longer because of the clocks going back. They wouldn't have it though ๐- Luther (Vandross' group before going solo) on AVCO?
Since we have a thread about the great man, this is one of the best tracks of the year- Luther (Vandross' group before going solo) on AVCO?
All the the pre-solo work is fantastic including tracks with The New York City Band and Charme- Mr. Floods Party on JM's auction
Another version by John Legend here. Not as good as some of the others - Clydie King R I P
