I finally got around to watching Oppenheimer last week and it is fantastic. Very long, very well acted and needs a lot of concentration but there's no other film maker like Christopher Nolan out there at the moment and his films will be all time classics. I learnt an awful lot too. I'd watch it again.

What's up Gareth? are you panicking because you're 5th after two weeks? ๐คฃ

Very bad first squad pick for me with players being loaned out elsewhere, injured or dropped. Haaland is just about keeping me in it. Too early for a wildcard and I don't think I can anyway this season.

The best soul album
Great thread. Totally agree with Anita Baker's "Rapture" - a gamechanger for me. I've always been more of an LP kind of guy. Other faves of mine are: Leon Ware - Musical Massage Marvin Gaye - Come Get To This Stevie Wonder - Innervisions Bobby Womack - The Poet Luther Vandross - The Night I Fell In Love Quincy Jones - The Dude Michael Jackson - Off The Wall Jill Scott - Beautifully Human Trina Broussard - Same Girl Adriana Evans - Adriana Evans

I've just recently see this too and it's by far the best series I've seen for years. Gary Oldman steals the show. I'm a big fane of the spy genre and this is brings it down to earth a bit. Very funny in parts too. John Le Carre has written about these smaller offices where the cast-offs get to do the grunt work.

The Main Ingredient version is my fave.

It was very good. Interesting to see Matthew Broderick to play the bad guy so well for a change.

BACKBEATS CD Series .
I was going through some Tower of Power tracks today and came across this gem which also featured on the Lay back and Chill CD

BACKBEATS CD Series .
The Soul Steppin CD is particularly good

AI Soul Tracks?
That sounds like it's ripped off The Temptations late 60s with Dennis Edwards. There's an increasing amount of it about recently and they must using somebody elses material as the source without crediting them. It wouldn't surprise me if someone makes a carver out of one and says it's a previously undiscovered rarity.

Top Tv Show list
I'd put Mad Men higher as I thought it was consistently great from beginning to end and there's no many you could say that about. If they've got Twilight Zone in there, I'd add Inside No.9 or even, Tales of the Unexpected ๐ (at least the Roald Dahl written episodes)

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST 'MODERN' NIGHTER SOUNDS?
Do you mean stuff like this? The Only Way Is Up - 80s Northern Soul Mix by Dixieeagle | Mixcloud

The Night, how Wigan Casino saved Frankie Vallis career....
That's not actually true though. The bit about saving his career.

A whopping 3rd place for me. The first time ever. I had a great run in the last two months, a bit like Palace. Gareth winning it again is getting a bit boring ๐

Agreed. It's a massive disappointment. I've just one more episode to go but am struggling through it. On the other hand, Scoop on Netflix, is pretty good about Price Andrew's car crash interview with Newsnight.

The Gentlemen on Netflix is brilliant. An off shoot of the Guy Ritchie film

I read that Sam Mendes is going to make four films about the Beatles - one on each member. Sounds brilliant to me since I love the Beatles and Sam does a great job of everything.

Thanks for that Mark. Really enjoyable. It's still in my top 10 list and I never tire of it. I've read the book too and it was excellent. It goes into much more detail about the science behind the behaviours of sharks.

Yes, it was brilliant. I got quite sentimental watching it. Al Jarreau singing Day O, as a tribute to Harry Belafonte, and everyone joining in was hilarious.

Marlena Shaw RIP
RIP the great Marlena Shaw. Always been a big fan but never got to see her live despite her many visits here. I still managed to get an autograph though. Pete Tong put this on a tape in the 80s and itโs my favourite.
