  1. What a disaster!! Train wreck city.
  2. You’re right about what you say about the B&S chart and music undergoing a radical change. However, 1988 was actually a golden year for soul music with many fantastic LPs — most of which don’t feature in your chart. Off the top of my head I can think of Angela Bofill, Chapter 8, Jean Carne, Broomfield, Perri, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Gerald Albright, Will Downing, Pieces of a Dream, Mica Paris and By All Means
  3. Great news. Hope there'll be a podcast available
  4. Really? No announcement on the London gig on 31 May
  5. Great playlist. When was this gig? when is the next one?
  6. How many times has this happened before? You would've thought that this would be a well drilled process by now. Why don't the singers just say they're visiting for holiday.

He brought his grand daughter on last year too Ali, dancing to "Tighten Up". She'll be an accomplished performer before too long

He's still got it. He was great when I saw him in London last year

Well I do agree that the NS scene has to evolve or it will fade out completely in the next 10 years or so. It's incredible that it's lasted so long. I'm in my 40s and I don't really care about it so much these days. I go to very few events even though I still love the music.
  10. Was the Wigan Casino Monsters a Goldmine CD? This has been one of my faves since I heard Guy play it on the Janice Long Radio 1 show around 1986.

Not in a soul pack but I was given this as a bonus 45 when I bought a set of stuff in 1985 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIxlRfzl5Yo
  12. That's probably a more diplomatic way of putting it. Perhaps I shuold've typed that the artists deserve more recognition.
  13. I agree. It's the artsist that has the talent, not the DJ. Consequently, they deserve recognition.

It was also featured in the Football League show on BBC1 on saturday night.

This is a great set. Don't know some of them and there's even a bit of Lou Rawls in there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EanuiNxcVHk
  16. Here's something else forthcoming to get people going https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IX1S7TY/ref=pe_281341_46396671_pe_epc__1p_4_ti
  17. Hence, my point. Not much time at all to fit in a god set of tunes. You must've had to fade a few out in your middle set Mark?
  18. I don't disagree with your post but righteous? Really?!!??
  19. Good stuff Mark but what's with the 30 minutes slots?

RIP Frankie. Far too young. This is one of my favourites of his. "What's Going On" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya6l7lmFTlc
  21. The two extra mixes aren't very good Alan. Not worth the wait or extra dosh imo.
  22. I'm surprised nobody has put up what I think is track of the year so far: Paul Johson - Better Than This
  23. Chuck Jackson definmately deserves to be in it. Ronald Isley is in it #12
  24. No Leon Ware either. And out of the new breed, Jaheim.
  25. Otis Redding should be in the top 10. I don't really have too much argument with the top 8 although not neccessarily in that order. Some strange ones in there too (Mario Biondi, WTF?) and some obvious ommissions, some of whom have already been mentioned plus Willie Hutch springs to mind.
