No one's mentioned that Lee Andrews "Quiet As It's Kept" release on Lost-Nite, is a totally different version to the released version on RCA and not available anywhere else?

Motown Demos Up For Grabs
- Value: Phyllis Brown - Ooh Baby - Rainbo
I thought it was a £50 record, used to be hard to shift.- Albums That Never Were
Sorry to hi-jack your post, but... I've noticed I've got the 3 posts and trying to get 'm all, ha-ha-ha, are there any 60's examples of this kind?, maybe some of those oddball Spanish EP's? Sorry Robin as you were.- Gino Washington - Rat Race
on Do De Re, with "Gino Is A Puppet" on the other side which came out on at least 4 labels including Ric-Tic and Son-Bert (though not with the inst.), played a lot upstairs at Stafford by George Sharp, if I'm not mistaken? boring as instrumentals go, even if you're off your head!- Emmanuel Laskey R.i.p
I am saddened to hear this news, one of the true unsung heros of the soul scene, a phrase often over-used; not in this case. I would say that it was probably "Peace Loving Man" that first made me aware of the vast gulf between the polished sound of Motown Detroit and the less sucessful but, none the less musically distinguished sound of the second string players of the motortown, from "Welfare Cheese" on I don't think I ever found a record of his I was disapointed with. A couple of years back when the Detroit Historical Society had tracked him down and got him involved, I had hoped I would finally get to see him perform, sadly this is not to be the case. "There's a girl, I wanna marry real soon, we got it planned for the 15th of June, but, it may not turn out that way, cos, uncle sam wants to take me away " R.I.P. Emanuel Laskey Sweet Dreams- Gino Washington - Rat Race
Originally played by Dave Thorley at Stafford as the Detroit Five, the test pressing credited to George "We're In A Rat Race"/"Oh No Not Me" Atac 2830 brought back by Gilly and sold to Ion, later went to Butch then Dave Flynn which looks like the one on Johns rarest of the rare, enough I'll get me pipe- Stafford Wmc June 86
seated round the table L-R: me still with moustache; Kyle (who I'd hung about with since Wigan days late 70s. As my photo album evolves expect to see his face crop up at regular intervals); a young Carl Fortnum deciding which 45s to buy out of my bargain sales box; an even younger Craig Butler reading a copy of "Shades" if I'm not mistaken. Facial hair for men hadn't been outlawed by the fashion police by then. derek- Tell Me About The Tempests
Been mentioned before (at least once by me!), maybe it was over on RSF?, The Temps, sorry Tempests also played the backing on the Appreiciations great Sport outing "It's Better To Cry" and a friend of mine was lucky enough to have been invited to a bar-b-que with 4 members of the Tempests while on a buying trip in the Carolinas a few years back, where they revealed the Detroit connection and sang "Someday" and a few others a capella- Manships Auction Prices Today
