Soulful Twins On Sable
That's where i got my first one from, which i swapped for another single (can't remember what, but it was a £15 record at the time). Eventually picked up a second copy off eBay for about £15 all in, before it went silly.

Probably The Best Northern Soul Ad Ever
They've started showing the ad, but instead of the Human Beinz, it's a more recent female version... Sounds weak compared to the Human Beinz.

Wendel Western Nag On Me
Think the last couple went for around £600?

Paul Humphrey-Cool Aid-Lizard
It was pressed on Vinyl and Styrene - The Vinyl labels are a deep red if i remember right. Presumably East and West coast issues.

Northern Soul Deejay's Of The Future ?
Go on then, I'll bite. I'd be embarrased to be seen playing Frisbee with the Newbeats, never mind inflicting it on anyone at a Soul do. It's a bag of utter bollocks.

Subway Joe Lp With Brill Subway Joe On Fania
In which decade? lol

Danny White
Tony, I read the label as Unity. Was the flip a big record for the deep collectors in Holland? (I know there was a scene there in the 1970s) - if so could this have been a custom reissue for export to Holland?

Danny White
Its bell sound stamped, so at a guess it was pressed from the original masters. Looks like a local reissue - the address is for Handy Brothers Music Publishing Company. Looking at the style of label - late 60s Psychedelic it could have been released to garner sales on the back of "Natural Soul brother" (1968)

Aaron Neville - Hercules
First became aware of this an an Acid Jazz label compilation in the very early 90s. Looked for one ever since expecting it to be a cheapie, but never found one in good nick (found a couple of clunkers over the years). Had it on the UK collection mentioned above, which if i remember right also has Brothers Guiding Light on it as well. Used to play it off that at a 'mixed 70s -90s soul' club that i co-promoted in the early to mid 90s.

Thanks chaps, This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for...

Consolidated Wants And A Couple More
Home of the Blues is the local label - 1st issue. ABC is a national release so 2nd issue, albeit possibly within weeks of the first.

No indication of what you are looking for in the title... Gets my Goat.
-
The Vanguards - The Tought Of Loosing Your Love (Lamp)
Don't pay too much for one - this is a cheapie that is fairly common. I'd say no more than £15.

Northern Soul 70's Fashion
Is that cos most people on the scene are now pushing 60? It used to be Talc and Speed Now its Ralgex and Heart Pills.

By Any Other Name
If it is then it was moonlighted whilst still being called the O'Jays elsewhere.

Northern Soul Deejay's Of The Future ?
I think it's getting harder for younger DJs (say between 25 and 35 years old) to gain experience behind the decks as the Allnighter scene is definately a closed shop. I can't remember the last time I saw a new/different name on a line up -which is partly the reason I haven't been out and about so much lately. Add to this the fact that local soul nights (the original testing ground for DJs) have slipped into being an oldies fests, with younger DJs (sub 25) being booked as novelties (I'm still waiting for a 'Promotor' to put a Johnny Foetus on, since we've gone as far back as under 11 year olds DJing). As stated earlier, it's probably going to be down to a younger group of DJs to form a club and put their own events on, appealing to a younger crowd, without as much baggage as the current scene carries.

Okeh Records - Outside Productions
Thing I've been mulling over the last couple of weeks and kept meaning to post: What percentage of the 45s released on Okeh during the 60s were outside productions? For instance, where were Ted Taylors 45s recorded? Were Little Richards releases West Coast productions, ditto williams and Watson? Which notable tracks were leased in?
