  1. That's a terrific biography Lorraine and Dave, thanks very much. Everyone who has met Maxine says what a wonderful person she is too with a wicked sense of humour and also values everyone she meets. The video she did with Elaine Constantine in NYC for the Cleethorpes video in the 90s shows her fun side as well as her talent
  2. Hi Mark September 14 was probably an early release date, most projects get delayed a bit, it was released last Monday. Ady
  3. Stephen T one of those 45s got held up, can't remember which. T'other came out in the batch at the end of last year
  4. Yes the best selling comps we've ever done, only Mod Jazz splits off Vol 4 from the other three in sales. In case you missed it we will be doing a Vol 5 later this year. All tracks Dave wanted for the series and hopefully we can find his words on the songs for the sleevenotes.
  5. In the late 70s/early 80s I actually found two copies in a shop in Norwalk, along with 6 copies of the Jackie Day Australian EP and some Spanish ZZ Hill and Etta James, obviously the library copies from the legitimate licensees chucked out by Modern at some stage.
  6. Steve, Kevin did the introduction. Dave dictated the sleevenotes to me when I visited him in Rotherham shortly before his death. Ady
  7. Yes, hard to tell the difference, but someone on here will know.
  8. Has Facebook invaded?
  9. That's very true Mike and a lot of his best stuff had been borrowed over the previous 40 years. Raking up and recrimination won't particularly help but it might give the impetus to put together something of a tribute or at least document what is left which will spur on other contributions to Dave's work. He certainly gave stuff away or lent it out on a whim.
  10. Looking May now, pretty definite and some super photos have turned up too
  11. Tony Blackburn and 1975:
  12. My mate said 4 questions and I told him the answers not knowing the questions. Got 2 out of 4
  13. It's a shame they didn't use a Betty Fikes/Gouche track, she was involved
  14. Indeed, let's get the film nuts onto it
  15. Thanks for that information. The whole dispersion of his possessions was chaotic. His LPs went to Scotland and were subsequently sold. I've got a file of censorship letters and a couple of nice Motown telegrams. I'll contact the museum and arrange to check out the boxes, give them relevant stuff from me and discuss what should be done.
  16. I doubt it but I bet he was on the undercard of some rock gigs that nay have been filmed
  17. Sorry for the confusion Mal, I'm good at that. It's as stated on the EP, the previously unreleased on vinyl 'I'll Be A Soldier Boy' same backing track as Bobby's 'Too Much'. I was flippantly suggesting I should have gone with the one in the ad to cash in on it. Cheers Ady
  18. I was but we planned the EP a long time ago before the ad which was as usual at short notice
  19. We are and they want me and you to dance to it for TOTP
  20. I chose the wrong Bobby Angelle track for that then!
  21. I'd not heard that one, from Louisiana originally, its all in the Soul Of Money CDs
  22. Bobby Angelle's family has made a few bob, along with a certain record company that will put some of the dosh to licensing new masters and maybe finding a couple of unheard dancers for us all to enjoy. Now eat your cereal up.
  23. Is the Bil Lou the same as the Polo or a different recording? Ady
  24. Smart thinking Paul, you forgot Eddie Parker!
  25. Thanks Andy, I knew Willie Brown was on there, I just wondered if any other members of the Intentions on Kent were. Amazing that it got a UK release. Cheers Ady
