Best U.s. Northern Soul Related Record Label
Hi All there is only a few 1. is the UK label Tamla-Motown it has been by far the most famous label in the WEST I am sure no one would disagree? so with that in-mind my choice would be Isleand/B&C Records as this companys output was a greater influance on my taste in music than any other, i think if you ask the majority of soul collctoe born 1950 to 55 would agree?? Pama Records (Blue)
I am sorry Pete there is more factual evidence about this record to say I am right (i have seen it) and it did exist, than the I want more proof? lobby. if i had the funding this issue and other rare records et TMG 620 "oh how happy" the Sex Pistols on A&M Jimi Hendrix color vinyl and my DMC12 Micheal Jackson would make good TV Documentary stuff!!?? as for the LONDON ISSUE of DB, you may eat your words just like exmas bop T REX the labels wereprinted **(fact) and 1st batch copys were always made at the same time the demo are made *****(FACT) there have been a few DEMO/ISSUES UNRELESED or withdrawn, examples of this PETE can you name 1 from CBS??. Tams - What Kind Of Fool, On Uk Probe
Hi All There is only 1 logical explanation, my opinion is following on from the great success of "hey girl don't bother me" the produce in the UK tried to find a suitable follow up? as EMI $taside LABEL had released the classic "be young be foolish be happy" they took the best song and removed the backing and added a new up tempo version, remember back then Rare Soul was sacred and DJs would have shon away from this Taylor made record?? OH! 2. the forgot to promote it anyway..Today this record falls in the category of "the Strange World of Rare Soul Collecting" DAVE KIL

Tams - What Kind Of Fool, On Uk Probe
Hi this record freaked me out when I first got as a release demo years ago, although not a big money record it has all the right stuff on it tempo wise! the other great thing is that both sides had the 1970s makeover, I no I gave a copy away about 16 months ago to a Soul Source mummer who lives in thee channel isle:ph34r: DAVE

Pama Records (Blue)
Hi All...I have always collected PAME the 1st PAMA I GOT was Eric Barnet "the HORSE inst GAS 100 in 1968 my top man the FACE! BRUCE WICKS IN 68 THE RECORD SHOP HE WORKED IN STOCKED THE INDEPENDANT LABELS O THE DAY, B&C BEING A FAVOURATE WITH IT'S FLASH LABELS, PAME LABEL COME ALONG JUST AT THE RIGHT TIME! WITH IT 'S ROUGHER REGGAE PLATTERS AND MORE COOLER LABELS BACK THEN ONLY CERTAIN SHOPS STOCKED CERTAIN LABLES, IT AMUZES ME WHEN I READ STORIES OF ..."I WAS 10 HAD WHITES ON WIV CHERRYS HAD SOME COXONE DODD SINGLE FROM THE BOSS BAMBOO SHOP OR WHATEVER MUSIC CITY STORE, TO COMPETE WITH THE NEW ACTION LABEL, THE PALMERS PUT THE SOUL STUFF ON THE BLUE PAMA LABEL AND IT CHANGED IT'S LOGO COLOR AROUND THE TIME OF THE VOLUMES ?/I AM SORRY BUT THIS GOING TO ANOY SOME OF YOU BUT IT DOES EXIST AS DOES A NUMBER OF SOUL SIDES THAT WERE NOT LISTED, BUT I HAVE SEEN THE RECORD "NOW I AM A WEST HAM BLOCKHEAD"/ SO I WILL MENTION KIETH MINSHALL AS LIKE MYSELF HAS SEEN IT BUT KIETH HAD IT IN STOCK!!?? ANY WAY HERES SOME PICTURS MY #1 PAMA AT THE MOMENT PERSAINS. THE BEST IS "WHAT A WONDERFUL NIGHT" BOBBY PATERSON: DAVE KIL

HI Pete I think they are all classics in there own right, esp Manchester Playboys I can remember Mick S pulling that and the Chi=Lptes "Love Bandit" of one of his stock shelves when i got my BOK TO BACH ISSUE! Ican't see me ever parting with that one it's far to elusive and rare. my record of the week is J E Young & Tonics on TOAST, thats why i dont sell anmore as i keep on rediscovering bits in my own collection that are almost forgotten?? Are Northern Cd's Worth Anything?
Hi All It's my opinion if it was issued on vinel it's or they are worth Jack to any collector HOWEVER a un-released track is worth having especialy if you find it before other DJs get the platter that matters and make money, besy example is Spencer Wiggens "lets talk it over" also Melba Moore "he magic touch" and in it's own way it is quite apt the DJs who discoverd them are still KEEPING the FAITH:ph34r: DAVE (Do behave sunshine!!) kil

Hi All...I have looked through mmpler LP BLACK INC. y LP collection and sadly have not got the track, only Carrol woods tracks i have are on the sampler EMBER LP - BLACK INC 2 tracks however it has Mickey Stevonson which although not on this LP but on his own LP , if you follow a brilliant track "STORMY" I remember Mick Smith having the Album of me after I played it to him, it's a shame that ember did not put this out as a 45, did the Carill Woods you talk about make it to a 45:ph34r: DAVE

I Really Rate This Version
Hi All....I must agree with you Pete I have been told there are 3 more versins of the other place, I have no idea of artists I supose it would not be that hard to find out if you contacted the Music Publisher, AAAHHH! the stench of Soho and walking down TIN PAN ALLEY, Just come into my mind for some odd reason! Lesley Gores "Thats what Boys.." on MERCURY UK, this record has never been mentioned to my Knowlage? but it was played in the end of the Wheel and Up the Junction/Torch and Northamptonshire Bedfordshire, Dig it out of your Junk box as the 45 has a pedagree, dont forget to put your 1970/1 ears on, I have always liked it, The Duffy thing is easy to explaine it quite claer to me she can Knock out a record but she has no Soul! yet to some they say they can here soul, DtheDRUG can only here the sound of tills taking in the $£$£$$ My logic is unlike our white girl singers who coverd black girl singers songs, and were clearly inspired to emulate them, DUFFY is trying to sing in a retro style to a Retro Northern Soul Beat, I like her songs however there is no comparrason GOD Bless Ele Grenwhich RIP as she wrote and produced many great tune and sings one of my top 10 tunes "BABY" RED BIRD, how great a record and must be over the £100 mark? YES? NO? DAVE

Why Ktf
:hatsoff2:HI ALL...I HAVE READ THIS ARTICLE TOP TO BOTTOM AND IT MAKE A GOOD FOUNDATION DOCUMENT ON BEHAVIORISM, ISAM BEING THE KEY WORD:- It is my opinion that as some of you have eluded to in the discussion KEEP THE FAITH That what has this to do with the here a now side of things in 2010? and that of UK collectors of rare soul. the answerer is nothing or everything. I would state, that most people on soul source are astute and intellectual, as such statements and comments are based on the individual right to express in the way that thy no best, And true to there own values a beliefs that we all gather through liefs wonderful travels, when we inherit from parental influences what we base our adult belief on, of coarse on this serendipitous journey ther will be a point when we take check on our belief system, and challenge ourselves to look at the facts again! And re think and challane where whe & what the bases of our thinking and logic is based on? if it was from a parental figure it is 25% right and true, and 75% of what we believe in was a pack of lies, History is a mans account of what he believes are the true facts. but he could well be lien to you! as History also reveals the more information you receive this is why the BBC NEWS is so respected around the world, To conclude KEEP THE FAITH, RIGHT ON, SOUL BROTHER, (not SISTER) are Americanisms from the 5ts that are loosely connected to biblical Scriptures, (parental) GOD is DEAD (Adult) thats the truth BEWARE OF QUESTIONS THAT ARE VERY PERSONAL, as they can expose your under belly and never call a fanatic names:boxing: Dave Kilworth KTF RIGHT ON
