Craig Just listened to the archive and it's a great show. I'm sure it used to be on thursday nights back in the nineties ? Anyhow enjoyed it, great to see you last Sunday at Junction 2 and can't wait for the 44 Club in a couple of weeks. Excellent dancing sounds all nite and a really great crowd. :-) Best Dave

defo a vocal and sounded quite ''modern'', that's what intrigued me. Very nearly asked the young lasses on't till, but we were running out of car park time. Knew I'd regret it. edit but I reallly do appreciate your input, and you seem to have a bit of knowlege about an obscure and un-popular track Cod ?

I'll try and find that track cod, I did try typing 'what about the music' in google, too much of a long shot there though, no chance Many thanks m8 Dave

How about 'what about the music' kama sutra records, bit of an oldie. Don't think the Brighouse and Rastrick covered it, but ya never know, lol. Thanks Paul.

Out shopping in Leamington today, walked in River Island and instantly thought it was Billy Harner as background shoppin music, which incidentally I like. It wasn't Billy, it was a very different version. Anyone know what it was, or had similar alternative take experiences ???

Pete - many thanks for the tapes - magnificent memories refreshed I've had books out showing pictures to the family, then playing the incredible footage clapping by hundreds of people at least, all in unison, and absolutely brilliant tear provoking atmosphere that made so very special to those lucky enough to have made the trip - short, far or very far in some case. What a great venue in it's day, wish I was going this weekend. Thanks again Pete Dave.
  8. How long is Kim over here for mate - out of interest and the info may help promoters, etc ?

Add me to the appreciation society Good luck with the work m8.
  10. Dave Just PM'd ya, agree you can't get rid of the soul, never been nowt else before or after Northern for me but wish I could turn back the clock in many ways and have done more in my youth. I married at 19 and missed almostr everything, luckily there is a chance to catch up a bit right now. Dave B

Thanks very much, going to Villamoura this Saturday afternoon, and will sniff out the joint. The venue does advertise (on another board) but doesn't give the name of the bar, . Anyhow, I rang and it is Legends at the top of the strip. Ex-Kiss FM DJ Mark Sebastian does the DJ'ing. Briles.
  12. Hinckley have a low key affair on a Sunday nite, twice monthly. Like to chill Sunday nite really, before the dreaded monday morning, so have only made it the once. I totally agree and if there was something midweek in the Midlands I'd be there. A pub in Nuneaton did a wednesday nite one 6 months ago, but it's gone now.

  17. Personally not keen on this rated spin on here, ain't gonna mention names Sebastian Williams - Get Your Point Over - far too funky and modern for me, lol.

Anyone know what the bar is called on Montechorro strip where northern is played every saturday, going very soon, on my stag do, and feel I must pay it a visit (with 8 non-soulies). I know a few on here have been, and have seen it listed in events, but no name of the bar.

Ian Please could you try that Fidels file, and tell me it's cool :-) Dave B

Sorry if I stae the obvious, but if you right click 'em and say select properties, it tell you the file format. The one I wanted was the Fidels - Try a little harder - which is a real audio media file which I can't convert, and would be grateful of help changing this format to MP3. Pete-S pls ? Thanks Dave.

Ian, thanks for the reply, I did search for another thread on the subject, but didn't manage to find it. I'd appreciate the pm if you don't mind, any more info would be welcome.

I was gutted when I fixed my PC and reloaded windows '98, only to find that the KTF website has 'gone'. I really enjoyed that site and it would be really handy to check out some of the tunes in the Djing thread with tunes under 20 quid. In fact I could spend all saturday souling as her in doors is off to the Bull Ring shopping ! I know about Soul Club, but are there any other similar sites peeps can point me to ? Thanks Dave P.S. I also spent ages loading Winamp and other plugins, so that I could change files from Real Audio to MP3 format to burn 'em onto discs for the car, grrrrr.
  24. Thanks for everybody's input. I've printed off the entire thread and have now bought a new pack of paper after the 23 pages it took. The response has been fantastic, and a bit overwhelming, but at least we have time to go through it and decide on what we think are the best.
  25. The Kev Roberts top 500 book describes Dena Barnes - If you ever walked out of my life - as as a tear jerking funeral sound, what do you reckon best to play at a wedding? My first thoughts are Roscoe Robinson - That's Enough, cos - I don't want glory or fame, I just want you to take my name, and more - can this be bettered ? Sorry, need good opinions and knowledge.
