As mike says a lot of people tend to 'pigeonhole' modern,anything from the 70's is regarded as modern,I've heard people complaining about Skip Mahoney,King tutt,Charles Johson etc as modern,they're not modern they're 25 year old northern oldies.As for Ace Spectrum and the futures if I heard those getting spun in a modern room,I wouldn't be going back there again.Perhaps we need three room events One room for Northern one for northern that's percieved as modern one for proper modern There are very few dj's that can play both rooms.Bob Hinsley is one of the few that can. Something is very wrong here,it's a 91 reissue on CD of a 1980 vinyl lp.Some Cd's are starting to creep up in price.Stuff like Sherrick which was released on both Vinyl and Cd can go for £80 to £100,at that time in the 80's noone wanted the cd's,the vinyl sold well,the cd's didn't.The record companies started to put bonus tracks on the cd's to encourage sales. I've heard of cd's fetching several hudreds of pounds,but nothing like this. Girth Devon,Derek Jack or Dodger may be able to throw some more light on this. Cheers Pete

I've got the same deck as you a Project which you lift the platter,and change the belt over.What a pain in the arse,especially as I buy a lot of 12's which a lot don't have the speed written on the label. The stylus on mine looks as if you have to take a couple of little of screws out,and take the wires off the back of the stylus. I think Technics is the way to go!! Cheers Pete

I've had acouple of instances in the last couple of months with records not turning up,my emails were'nt returned.On both occassions I sent them emails telling them I would be naming and shaming them,reporting them to ebay,paypal,trading standards and the Internet Fraud Dept (made that one up :-) ) This resulted in refunds. If they had mailed me back initially.saying they had posted the items,must have got lost in the post.I would probably have have said that's life,and taken the hit.But it's when they don't return your mails that really gets me going. I must stress that neither of these transactions were with anyone on this site. Cheers Pete
