MARVA WHITNEY-YOUR LOVE WAS GOOD FOR ME -45-6202
So which version is King 6158 ? The Federal release or same as the King 6124 or 6202 ? Cheers

The Ebonys
The first single on Avis exits in two different forms. Avis 1001) Back In My Arms / I Can’t Help But Love You (1969) On one of the issues 'I cant help but love you' is not the song on the vinyl. The actual song is a nice crossover thing which repeats the hook like 'I wont cry no more'. The other release with ICHBLY is the actual song which is more of a sixties northern sound. Probably some pressing plant mistake.

Biggest Nighter Tunes Of The Last Ten Years
Think it was a Stafford thing. Mick Brown put me on to it and I got two copies for $6 each about 15 years ago and sold one to Cliff Steele and sold my copy on here about 12 months back. Flip side "life aint so bad " is the side for me.

Alison & Clavin Turner & Fabulous Sound Masters
Hi Have a copy on the original Lamp label, later issued on Lu Lu and Chess without the full group name. Alison and Calvin Turner and the Fabulous Sound Masters - Yeah Memories / Shake what your mama gave you - Lamp VG+ £60 Label is nice with no stickers, writing or damage just a little worn and the vinyl has surface marks, some light scratches but no deep gouges, hops skips or jumps. Plays well above grade to my ears. Scan attached "Yeah" is a killer slowie which kicks off at the end and "Shake" is a funky effort with a "tighten Up" riff sampled. Youtube sample for info - not this copy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INrZqF7b3_k Postage UK First £1.50, Recorded £2.50 and Special at £7.25, Worldwide estimated air post £5 or other method at cost. The record stores back in the 70s
Was in Skippy White's back in Y2K. He's quite a character, and after some haggling we eventually got into the basement. Before we went in he said we had better not leave a mess but when we got in the place looked like a fecking bomb had hit it - records all over the place. However we did pull out lots of 45's with multiple copies...Ann Heywood on Hondo, Steve Mancha 'Friday Night', Barbara Middleton on TRC, DeVonns on King etc etc. all at $4 each. 25 count boxes all around the wall with various soul 45's. There were plenty of copies of Frank Lynch..Young Girl on MY Records as Skippy produced it.

Mailing records to USA
Sent a 45 about 6 months ago by Airsure (tracked and traced) to LA area. It took 24 hours to get from UK to LA sorting and then took 5 days from there to the home address. About a couple of weeks later I sent another 45 to the same area but just by normal air post and it took nearly 1 month to deliver .......FFS !!!!

Ellingtons - Original and Boot for sale
I've just pulled these from storage over the weekend. They have essentially remained unplayed for probably 30+ years. I've attached scans of both for everyone to view. 1. Original The "destined" side has two label tears on it and the flip "Agony" is perfect. This is the way I bought it many years ago. The vinyl is in lovely condition probably Ex+. I note someone on here said original copies always have poor vinyl, but this definitely has excellent shiny vinyl. £80 2. Boot The Silver "look-a-like" boot with Ex+ condition overall. £10 Scans See Below Payment by Paypal F&F or Gift Post UK first £1.50, Recorded £2.50 and Special at £7.50 - Overseas at cost but small packet air £4 or Signed/Airsure £11 (approx. costs) Thanks Andy

Help on this acetate
Checked Popsike and your acetate shares the same title as two others shown which are from the HDH Invictus label. One is clearly a carver of the original - or it seems that way. Checking the Invictus 45 rpm discography shows that several numbers from '72 - 9127 and 9131 along with 1261, 1262, 1266 and 1270 from '74 were all planned but no release for those numbers. Maybe your acetate is one of those planned ?? Parliament were on the label, so maybe them ??

Sek's Generation on Goliath
According to Billboard from August 1970 they were an all girl group to be produced by Bill Goodman and Lou Perry at Goliath. Not much else I'm afraid.

What is this automobile record player??
There were several US car manufacturers who tried this gimmick. I first saw it on one of those car shows on TV where they refurbish old models for their owners. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/04/record-players-were-the-infotainment-systems-of-the-1950s-and-60s/index.htm

Confused of Preston
Or what about those who end every sentence "OK yeah?" or "alright yeah". Fecking hate it.

Lovelites On Bandera
I've always considered the dark blue label to be some form of reissue as I've seen nothing else like it with the same label design. I'd never considered the reissue due to the success of "How can.." but it does make sense as its happened with other labels and artists.

'Spot-light On' Nev Wherry
Nev was a great guy. He had a regular spot during the week at Inkersall Social Club in Chesterfield and we would all gather on Wednesdays to hear him DJ. At the end of the evening he'd ask us if we were going up to the KGB Dance Centre warm up then all nighter in Sheffield on the Saturday night. We usually were so he asked what train we would arrive on and he'd be at the station waiting for us and drove us up to the venue. We'd do the warm up till about 11 or so then get kicked out, go for fish and chips and then go back for the nighter. He'd then take us back to the station in the morning. We were all around 15 and 16 years old so couldn't drive and really appreciated Nev's taxi's !!
