  1. This popped up on the wife’s Facebook feed taken by a local photography group. A stag in the Peak National Park on the edge of Chesterfield with the crooked spire down in the distance.
  2. Looks like Clay Brown did some kind of reissue also on Florentine in 2010. Looky likely again shown on Cogs. Andy
  3. Tramp did one Jordi, with look alike label, but it has Tramp written in the logo if you look closely. Andy
  4. I ordered a digital download today from Bandcamp and it asked for my location. I selected UK and it added 20% to the price.
  5. Around mid / late 70's we'd been to Wigan Casino all-nighter if I remember correctly and three of us decided on a whim to go to the all-dayer at the Windmill Club in Rotherham. We were only 14/15 at the time. On the way back south we asked the coach driver to drop us in Rotherham and we had about a 2 mile walk to the venue. None of the older lads on the coach wanted to come. We started our walk to the venue and from nowhere this fella, probably 30 ish, wearing a black leather jacket with studs and chains, comes out of an alley brandishing a long piece of 2 x 2 timber. He says we are members of a rival gang who had previously beat up his mate. We said that was not correct (although we put it stronger than that), which seemed to get him further wound up. Before long he's running at us swinging the fence post, but we had the good sense to split and run. It was a shame some of the others hadn't joined us, as there was some tasty lads on the bus who could really handle themselves. Anyway we all made it to the venue in turn, enjoyed the day, but I rang my parents at the end to come and pick us up, as we weren't risking that again. Bottled it !! The parents wern't impressed with a 60 miles round trip on Sunday night.
  6. I had a moan to my MP about the import duty and tax changes on EBay, Discogs etc about two years ago. He works in the BEIS dept of the gov and he explained that the crackdown on all platforms, not just music, is because businesses have been selling on these and not paying taxes due. Unfortunately it also captures the hobbyist as it’s too difficult to separate and would still leave the platforms open to abuse.
  7. Let’s be honest the high pricing issue is not just confined to Discogs, it’s on here. I see a record listed on here but the price was extortionate. I checked Discogs and the price on here was 40% higher than the Cogs max and over 60% higher than the average. There was one copy for sale on Cogs at 20% higher than the one here. So clearly the seller here and on Cogs are being “speculative” (I’m being polite saying this)

  9. You’d have better luck putting it in the wants section https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/forum/17-record-wants/
  10. I’ve waited more than this before usually between 3 - 7 days. It has been longer on the odd occasion. When there has been a perceived delay it was usually down to the seller having work commitments, illness and on one occasion a family bereavement. if the seller has good feedback I wouldn’t worry at this stage.
  11. Yes 75 I knew it was mid 70’s
  12. I had the Silver label copy many moons ago. More of a crossover style version and 1974 date seems to ring a bell from memory. Andy

  15. Too right Mick thousands of sealed albums….who knows what was there ?
  16. In 2000 myself and Mick Brown were record hunting in the US. In an old barn full of 45’s we pulled a copy of Mary Monday & Soul Syndicate on Insurance City out of a box of 200 45’s. The owner gave us on old kids record player to spin anything we didn’t know, and as soon as we heard it, we knew it was a tune. We subsequently found 6 more copies but one was cracked and off centre. We kept one each and the others were snapped up by well known collectors. Open up your heart’ was the side we liked, but lately Electric Ghetto has really grown on me. Andy
  17. Mmmm...it supposedly blocked Onlymp3, but it did actually download. Scanned the file, no issues.

  24. There is another version I know of but I can’t remember right now. I’ll have a dig around in the boxes and post it up.
