I never bothered with the CDs because I have a fair swag of the 45s, but seeing all the tracks laid out like that makes me think I should get around to it, pretty convenient at the very least.

O'Jays for me & I only own the Commands version. I like the O'Jays one because they take it a bit more direct & it's got more punch. Still like The Commands too though.

I read it as we were talking about Johnny Sayles still?? In any case, I don't remember seeing a Mamie Galore with the address around the rim of the label, only in a straight line under the name. If it did exist it would probably be in black print (like on the Monk Higgins) rather than the darker pink print of the Johnny Sayles, Vontastics etc.

just pay it & if it doesn't arrive express with tracking then leave a negative & regardless don't deal with them ever again. i can definitely see why they are doing this, i've offered people a tracked service before, they have refused & said they won't claim if it doesn't arrive, then it goes missing & they claim. this is never ever the case in my experience.

from Raleigh you can head back a bit to All Day Records in Carrboro & CD Alley in Chapel Hill Schoolkids Records & Nice Price are in Raleigh. In SC on the east side there isn't a lot, Horizon Records & Cabin Floor Records are in Greenville which is a bit west of where you're going. Unfortunately the East side of the Carolinas & Savannah are pretty barren for record stores, you might get lucky at an antique mall or something but other than that. You might try contacting Jason Perlmutter through his Carolina Soul website for some more tips or to set something up since he sells 45s privately.

I really think that Lou did the CDs & mp3s without realising the appeal of a 7" vinyl release & has now been alerted & "pointed in the right direction" if you like. I would love to have three 7"s of this material. Both versions of the Gloria Jones on one, the Jimmy McFarlands on another & the Tiaras on a third. Unfortunately the 7" game isn't really one where you're gonna see a lot of return on your initial investment so to have this bootleg eat away from some potential sales really sucks for whoever may be looking to pick up the project.

he has told me had been communicating with a couple of labels re.7" releases as of a couple of days ago. to have this boot out early could slice into some of the legit sales for sure.

poor form from a fellow Soul Source member but at this stage we can't be sure whether he is the source of the bootlegs.
