  1. The research that has gone into this site over a number of years has gone a long way into debunking many of the "Hendrix plays on this" stories that people have come up with over the years. I like that there is a bit of info on the Lee Moses/Herman Hitson/ Johnny Brantley wing of things.
  2. wow, I love it how you can judge someone completely from a 5m youtube clip
  3. Desperate Man Blues is an incredible film. The cut with commentary by Bussard is facemelting, stories for days. I think that youtube clip is for a different thing, because it's not what's on DMB. What racial element? Mimicking the voices? some cool pics from Joe's:
  4. great 45, I found a box of these a couple years ago & made a lot of people happy with free copies The last 5 for me Willie West - Lesson Of Love - Timmion (excellent deep new record) Boots Brown - Cerveza - RCA Victor (upgraded to NM on this great cheap Tequila-esque instrumental) Solomon Burke - You're Good For Me - Atlantic (NM upgrade on this classic) Percy Sledge - Take Time To Know Her - Atlantic (upgraded to NM on this sublime deep soul track) The Deacons/The Royal Revue - Sock It To Me/Is It Because I'm Black - Shama/Garu/Numero (bonus ltd 7" that came with Numero's Syl Johnson box set - the box set is incredible)
  5. also went for $42 & $122, so it's really all over the place at the moment trying to find it's feet value-wise....
  6. just heard Earl Jackson "Soul Self Satisfaction" was got for 50cents
  7. Auckland New Zealand December 18............ will be the 2nd time I've seen them. Sold out already Talk about mainstream success
  8. A copy of Elder Smith has just been listed on Discogs https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=2030158&ev=rb
  9. ok, flipping through my photobucket for a tip of the iceberg
  10. I have way too many Stax records..........
  11. the shhhh.......ARC story is that at least one $1000 northern 45 was bought & then onsold to the UK for $1600 later that evening.... Japan is crazy, if you have the money you can basically get any record you want. Japanman has been pillaging the US consistently for 20 years, dudes will just rent a U-Haul truck, drive & buy until it is filled with records, ship them back to Japan & repeat.....
  12. I wished I could have made this one, from what I have heard & seen from others there were definitely good, cheap 45s to be had again.
  13. Saggitarius. It's actually a bit messier as of a few nights ago because the kid has been rummaging through the CDs trying to find stuff to add to her ipod. The best move ever for the 45s was getting them out of boxes & onto shelves, having most of that stuff in stacked cardboard boxes did my head in. But now it's all alphabetical & much easier to find 45s. Still there's only about 6000 45s there, which is a manageable size, moving house is a pain though even with just a small to medium size collection like this.
  14. what do you mean? my records are my kids (there are also LPs & CDs all through the hallway & in the lounge & I've actually been culling extensively the last few years )
  15. I have hundreds, don't really care for them as I don't have a juke, they mainly came from a jukebox distro stock I bought. I'll see if I can find a stash & take some pics.....
  16. not shown: masive black couch stretching along a wall & wardrobe door on another wall
  17. yeah, Fryers hasn't been working. Keep an eye on ebay for the Elder Smith 45, people seem to be loosening their grip as the price rises or even try asking on wxidermy or verygoodplus because i sold a few to people on those boards.
  18. This will be incredible, I cannot wait for it to arrive in the post
  19. I have the new 45 that they put out, the Syl Johnson track is cool but the Mellow-D one on the flip is not so strong, kinda sounds like Joss Stone.
